thedoctor38 Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 There have been some amazing mods as companions from here and on nexus and I wanted to make some of them as a main character rather than a companions. On Nexus gilgoon has created some great looking companions Ria, Ari etc. http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/17354 I started off with Ria and what I did was load up Ria on CK, duplicate her and add her to the nord female presets as no. 11. Saved my preset mod. Then I added the mods gilgoon used to create her like univision etc and started the game and voila Ria was there as a 11th preset on female nord preset. All I had to do was change her hairstyle. My problem is when I tried this on the Pretty Assassin Ari, who is my favourite, it seems not to work. I followed the exact same procedure I did with Ria but when I go to the female nord presets, it's not added and there is only the usual 10. So I tried adding Ari to Breton but the same thing only 10 female breton presets. I'm confused as to why my method work fine with Ria but for some reason with Ari it's not adding her to the presets when I load the game. Any help or suggestions would be most thankful.

[/quote'] I'm not sure if it will work because I never tried it myself, but maybe try replacing some of the presets with your own instead of adding to them.
FastestDogInTheDistrict Posted July 26, 2012 Posted July 26, 2012 While I'm able to edit presets numbered 1-10 with no troubles, I have not been able to get a preset with a number above 10 to work at ALL. I'm very curious as to how that was accomplished!
thedoctor38 Posted July 26, 2012 Author Posted July 26, 2012 @ FastestDogInTheDistrict I followed this guide http://j-u-i-c-e.hubpages.com/hub/How-to-Make-Your-Skyrim-Character-Look-Like-Any-Character-in-the-Game to add a 11th preset.

THAT is VERY useful info! I'd actually been seeking this EXACT info for generating presets past 10 a couple of weeks back & had had no luck! Thanks!!

THAT is VERY useful info! I'd actually been seeking this EXACT info for generating presets past 10 a couple of weeks back & had had no luck! Thanks!! **UPDATE**: I wanted to add this here' date=' as I just discovered it & wanted to post it before I forget (a matter of seconds, I assure you - I have the short-term-memory of a bong-head goldfish)... [b']THE PROBLEM:[/b] When following that guide, and doing a quick & temporary NPC-duplicate-preset for creation of an .npc file, do NOT make the edit to an existing .esp - DO NOT! Doing so may cause... oddities to occur. Based on my experience of the past half-hour or so, it may corrupt the .esp you used, and cause the CK to load differently when using that .esp as a data load in future. I was lucky enough to have already made a backup of the .esp which was corrupted, & thus I lost nothing. If I had not had this backup available, I would have had to trash my corrupted .esp, and edit the follower again from scratch. Eg: I decide to make a quick preset in order to create a facegen from a recent edit of Lydia. I load data as normal, setting Lydia's .esp as "Active", make the preset, save, enter the game, use "Showracemenu" and the "spf" commands to make a quick facegen, exit without saving. Return to the CK, delete the temporary preset, close. Open the CK again later to re-apply something to Lydia which seems to have disappeared, only to find that the "Warning blah blah" messages encountered are different, and several data files I need will not load properly (their data is simply not registering in the CK). (That's actually what happened, and how I discovered this, in a nutshell...) THE SOLUTION? Simple. Load your data as normal, BUT DO NOT SET AN ACTIVE FILE! That is - do not piggy-back any changes off your existing .esps or .esms. When following the guide linked above, save any changes TO A NEW .ESP! Name it whatever you like - just DON'T muck with your existing .esp's just to make a temporary preset. Make a new, temporary one, and then junk it when you're done.
