Any way to disable Save file number incrementing?

Has anyone found a way to stop that annoying file save incrementing crap skyrim does?

 

If you dont know what I mean I'll try an explain, Basically if you save a file in a open slot the first time it will be save 1, now if you overwrite that file it becomes save 2 rather than remaining save 1.

 

This is purely a cosmetic thing but its a bit of a bug bear for me. I accidentally pulled it off on Oblivion when installing some mods.

 

Im guessing the answer is likely to be no, but hopefully one of you fine individuals has some idea of how I can pull this off,
