CTD when fast traveling to Windhelm or Palace of Kings

If i fast travel to windhelm or palace of kings I enter a loading screen then crash. i have no problems around Windhelm only if i try to enter the city.

I never got around to buying it but plan to at some point. Is that what the problem is?

Probably. Pretty much everybody has them installed. Its almost a foregone conclusion that a person has them installed.

 

If you have the Legendary Edition, the DLC are free to download from Steam

And More nasty Critters should be above SexLabNudeCreatures in the load order

What's that WindhelmAddon (could that be the reason for CTD there?)

And why is BashedPatch =19?

Still, whatever is causing it is related to Windhelm, but I'm not familiar with a number of your mods. In general, I tend to not mod any of the cities or towns

Have you tried other cities, like Solitude or Whiterun?

 

But, you do have a number that I also have, or will once I copy my backup of the Data folder back into place. had to re-install Steam and then Skyrim. Once everythign's back in place, I'll use MO to turn off my DLC and see if anything flags

You can try moving to an area close to Windhelm and then walking from there.

You cant' buy the Legendary version on Steam anymore, but you can buy the Legendary key from other sources and it should work for activating on Steam.

A quick Google search found some for as low as $6.

the rest of the world is fine it is just Windhelm, I have tried walking from the windhelm stables but it will still cause CTD when I open Windhelm

Well, from what I can see, of the mods we have in common, none rely on the DLCs. Can't speak for the mods we don't have in common, though.

I was able to fast travel in windhelm, It seems there were lots of leftover scripts from steam workshop mods that were not in my load order.
