ixulf Posted June 19, 2017 Posted June 19, 2017 I've had this problem for a long while now and I have tried adding and removing mods over the last few months but always CTD after playing the game for a while. Would be really grateful if someone could check my logs to see if they can find the problem. Also I'm using LOOT on mod organiser to sort plugins. Papyrus.0.log loadorder.txt
Rynnes Master Posted June 19, 2017 Posted June 19, 2017 If you use LOOT and ModOrganizer to organize and sort your plugins you're doing things correctly. That isn't enough, though. Do you use TES5Edit to clean each (and every) plugin in your load order? You *must* do so. Do you use TES5Edit to create a merged plugin? You should do that. too. Do you use Wryebash to review your mods and create a bashed patch? By "reviewing your mods" I mean checking them for out of order masters, for example? I was amazed how many mods were in my load order and had out of order masters. You can see them immediately in WryeBash by noting the color of the box before each plugin; if it's red without a check in in the plugin has out of order masters. To fix that issue open each in TES5Edit, click on the plugin name and select "sort masters". Save and done. WyreBash is also useful to show mod conflicts and plugins with missing masters; if the box is red and has a check in it, things aren't going to go well until the cause if fixed. Lastly, WryeBash lets you create a Bashed Patch which lowers the number of plugins that are actually active, merging some into the bashed patch. Very handy if you, like me, have a large load order. May I presume you are using either the SKSE memory patch and ENBBoost or Crash FIxes? I use the latter, but you should be using ENBBoost also in any event. Lastly, I use Skyrim Performance Monitor to run my game and always monitor my game's memory usage. You can accomplish the same thing by using MemInfo. By using either of those utilities you can see your system's memory as the game progresses. In my system, I'm on Windows 10 using a 1080Ti which has 4 gigs of memory, I can watch as my memory usage climbs (it always climbs, slowly, going down or up depending upon which location I'm in and how many objects and NPCS are there). When I hit 2900 gigs I know that a crash is imminent. The game always crashes when I hit 3 gigs. Always. There's nothing I can do about that and the reason is that Windows 10 limits DirectX 9 games to 3 gigs of memory usage. That limitation is reportedly going to be fixed in an future Windows 10 update. I hope so. Meanwhile, however much memory your system has, assuming an otherwise clean load order, if your memory usage climbs beyond what your system has available, you'll CTD. Without exception. Using Skyrim Performance Monitor or MemInfo will give you a visual reference to see what is going on in your own system. Hope this information helps.
