Rooker Posted June 16, 2017 Posted June 16, 2017 I'm getting some horrible stuttering after I've been playing for a while and it always happens just after leaving a menu or container. The only thing that makes it stop is to exit and restart the game. After that, it's smooth as silk until it happens again. It runs 50 - 70 fps pretty much everywhere and I other than really long loading screens, everything seems fine. There doesn't seem to be anything going on with my PC in the background.I leave task manager open while playing and it doesn't show any huge spikes in CPU, RAM or hard drive when it happens. I don't have a huge mod list yet and it started happening before I installed most of what I have now. I'm just using vanilla textures for the moment. I'm wondering if it might be some scripts going haywire or something. Any ideas? Rooker Posted June 16, 2017 Author Posted June 16, 2017 http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/332 Use this to get a bit of a free performance boost I love that for the older Beth games, but it was causing some strange glitching with my shadows in FO4, so I removed it. I'm not really having any performance issues anyway, just this annoying stutter every couple of hours. I even solved my super long loading times by turning off vsync. I did just notice something else though. When the stuttering starts, it only affects me when I move. If I stand still, everything else around me runs smoothly. Soon as I move, stutter city and framerate goes bonkers.
Rooker Posted July 4, 2017 Author Posted July 4, 2017 Hey, I figured it out finally. Turns out it was FRAPS going haywire for no apparent reason.
