Zandra Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 Okay, I have some conflicts that I am trying to sort out and I've read that Wyre Bash will help me with a lot of this. I just downloaded it and haven't even installed it, yet. So, let me preface this by saying that I have no idea what I'm doing. To use Wyre Bash, do I need do a clean install of Oblivion and use it to reinstall my mods? Or, can Wyre Bash automagically sort out my problems without a reinstall? I'm just trying to figure out what my next step should be.
Ark of Truth Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 You can install it without a reinstall of Oblivion. When you have installed it let us know and we will take it from there.
Zandra Posted July 23, 2012 Author Posted July 23, 2012 Sorry that it took me so long to get back to this. Real life got hectic! Okay, so I've installed Wyre Bash and looked at it. From what I understand, everything that is in green lettering can/should be moved into a bash patch. For me, this includes all of the Beautiful People esps (except for the one that converts Sheogorath's eyes...but I'm thinking that should be moved, too.) Also, I need to move the CreaturesSexualOrgans esps into the bash patch, I think. I recall seeing that somewhere here even though in Wyre Bash it's marked as "NoMerge." Now, will there only be a single bash patch that I move them into? So, anything that is green can be safely moved with no problems? I've got two problems, specifically, that I am trying to fix. The first one is some of my NPCs have a single, black eye. I understand that it's a common problem and I've probably messed up an installation, somewhere. I know that I do need to check and make sure that I deleted a folder when I was installing Beautiful People (I think.) My other problem is infinite horse penises. I've tried everything that I can think of to fix that!I made sure that I installed everything in the correct order and applied the Fixed Horse Dick. (I am using Slof's horses, by the way.) I've tried deactivating Creatures Sexual Organs and activating Slof's horses and vice versa. I've tried moving the load order about, putting Slof's horses below and above Creatures Sexual Organs. Nothing seems to help. I'm hoping that moving things into a bash file will make things play better, together.
gregathit Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 1. The single black eye tends to be a conflict with Xeo and can be resolved by: A. Installing XeoSP++ B. Dropping XeoSP++'s esp to the bottom of your load order. 2. If you had read this post you would already know that in order for us to properly help you we need to see your load order and if you had clicked on the spoiler you would see exactly what is supposed to be included from both MBP and lovers in your bashed patch. 3. The infinite horse dicks issue is because in the process of installing a mod you have installed a bad skeleton for the horses. You are going to need to track down this skeleton and delete it to fix this.
Zandra Posted July 23, 2012 Author Posted July 23, 2012 The main thing is that I have mods outside of the ones that I mentioned that are green. Can everything that is green be patched into the bash with no worries? Will there only be a single bash patch that I move them into? So, anything that is green can be safely moved with no problems? As I stated, I am completely new to this program and am not sure what I am doing as far as the actual process of doing the bash patch. Thank you for letting me know the problems with the eye and horse dicks. I'll look around and find what I need.
Lilalu Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 Yes - and it is only one patch (though the size will be bigger than most of your mods, it will take all relevant entries so all green mods will be disabled afterwards; violett ones - if you have - can be imported also and are disabled afterwards, too. Wrye will know itself what to merge.). My advice would be reorder your mods the way you want it - turn OFF all lovers mods - and after that let wrye do its thing by right-clicking and rebuilding the patch. Reenable lovers and be happy - I know it seems to be complicated first takes some time to learn what it can do, but wrye is a wonderful tool and will save you a lot of problems (and can do a lot of things once you start to understand it) and eyes will be one of them (there might be more to solve it, but if your lucky the patch will do it for you). Read a bit of the readme, try it, learn "learning by doing" - and ask when problems occur. Someone will be here to help.
Zandra Posted July 23, 2012 Author Posted July 23, 2012 Thanks Lilalu! I appreciate the help. Heh...now, I just have to figure out how to actually make the bash file. XD I started reading the readme, but I'm not through it, yet. It does seem a bit intimidating, right now, but I think you are right and it'll be a fantastic tool once I get the hang of it. Now, I'm off to figure out why horses have stopped stalking me now that they have regular, ol' penises. (Though, I will admit that I miss the sight of horse penises the size of trees looming over my shoulder as they chase me. XP)
