redslime Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 Hi there. It's my first post so if I'm getting something wrong in terms of how to post or I am missing anything key from my post please let me know. On to the point, I seem to have an extremely annoying problem and it originated when I started using lovers mods with my current install. Since then I have only added some minor armor mods. Certainly nothing that can possibly be causing the problem. I get absolutely MASSIVE loading times (for loading saves). By massive I mean 3 minutes+. I find myself having to go do something else every time I start playing Oblivion. Meanwhile, loading the game itself to get to the menu takes a regular amount of time (a few seconds) Now, this computer is not great, using an IGP, but it can handle the game on low settings just fine. Certainly nothing to make it take 3 minutes to load a save game. I think that most likely it has something to do with the lovers mods, be it a taboo load order, or extreme incompatibility. I order my mods with BOSS every time I add anything new, and my archive invalidation settings are set to BSA redirection (if that matters for some reason). Hopefully someone can spot something horribly wrong in my load order. NOTE: Before I added any lovers mods my quicksaves took literally 3 seconds to load, so the difference is in fact massive. NOTE2: All saves take 3 minutes, be them hard saves, quicksaves, or autosaves. gregathit Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 1st - your posting a techincal problem in the general section instead of where it belongs (in the technical support area). Next you didn't read the post that says "read me before posting here" which hopefully you would have read had you posted in the right section. Link: http://www.loverslab.com/showthread.php?tid=6133 You need to correct your load order to match the one in the link above (click on the spoiler). You can't have any lovers plugins below LoversAnimObjectsPriority.esp or lovers won't work correctly. Next, get rid of your duplicates: LoversTrueCrime.esp LoversTrueCrimeEx.esp <---pick one or the other. The readme.txt for this mod clearly states to use only one. Make sure that you have MBP 1.4a and MBP++ v98 installed for Tamago club. Now and to your long load times: You could have save game bloating. You can try fixing this with Wrye Bash. One thing you need to stop doing is ever using quick saves. Those are absolutely horrible and often get corrupted. I personally don't recommend auto saves either as I have seen them go bad too. The safest save is hitting the escape button and selecting a new save. You can also use streamline which has a built in autosave that works fantastically. Why don't you give us the sizes of the saved game that seems to be the long loading ones. You should have two saves per number - an ess and an obse. For example my save #1567 with a playing time of 57.43.01 my ess file is 7,394kb and my obse file is 305kb. Also if your computer is older and isn't keeping up well then I suggest you dump some of the lovers mods. Many lovers plugins are extremely script heavy (like Tamago Club) and all of those scripts go right into your saved game file. Stuff like natural weather can put some dents in your frame rates due to higher rez textures (especially water) and this can also lead to longer loading times. Ok load order has hopefully been fixed which I will paste at the end of this post. Thanks for pointing out that duplicate. It's difficult to keep track of everything since some of the mods have all the info on the thread and some have no info and all of it in the readme. Anyways the duplicate is gone! Check. Did this before I added any mods. All taken care of, neatly arranged in a bashed patch, and completly googly/black eye free. Thanks for the suggestion. I'll look into streamline after I post this. Edit: No savegame bloat found. Alright. My save file which is #28 with 12.52.49 is 1561kb and my obse file is strangely 1868kb. Looking at my history (I've been making a new save every time during my get-mods period) my OBSE file was 381kb before I added any lovers mods or the whole MBP, beautiful people, etc, and then shot up to 813kb, and steadily went up to what it is now over 7 or so hour (I had been adding 2 or 3 mods every now and then in that time period) As of now my oblivion is tweaked enough to run pretty decently on this computer. I don't mind up to ~10 second loading times if it takes that long since the performance in-game is just fine. Uriel Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 Same idea here. Tamago/Hiyoko bloating. You can try using tamago/hoyoko control spells to reset those mods, you will lose all the born NPC's accumulated in the world though.
redslime Posted July 18, 2012 Author Posted July 18, 2012 Ok so disabling both mods then turning them back on seems to have done the trick of returning loading times to normal. Unfortunately Tamago did not completely reset for some reason. Now the womb is always in that "???" state according to my HUD mod, and the console is spamming with messages that it doesn't know what state it's in. I was going to try resetting it in-game but because I raised the realism to level 3 to avoid a million different sperm misc items lagging the menu when I open it, and tamago didn't completely reset (so it's still at level 3), it won't let me do an in-game reset. Any ideas? On a positive note, my OBSE save dropped to around 650kb.
Uriel Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 I suspect you might have enabled a wrong Tamago HUD mod. Look for them in your loadorder, only some of them are compatible with tamago's 1.12 postpartum phase.
gregathit Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 When you disable things you need to follow this procedure (if you didn't already): 1. Disable all lovers mods and then start the game. 2. Load your most current save. 3. When finished loading, hit escape and select new save, then exit oblivion. 4. Enable all lovers mods and restart game. 5. Now load the save you just made and play (don't forget to save too!) After the 3rd step you have "cleaned" your save game. With the fifth step you should be back to starting with a clean slate. NOTE: Clean saves do not always work. Sometimes you have to start a new game.

I tried completely disabling everything and I am unable because some of the lovers mods attached themselves to my bashed patch, for which I see no way to remove them (and I need my bashed patch on or else Ill experience CTDs because I need my hair/eye mods working if i load my savegame). Removing them from the directory causes missing masters of course, and using dummy masters runs the game but upon returning the real files the settings remain the unchanged / not resetted (still realism level 3, etc). I have come to the conclusion that it is probably easier to simply trash my savegame, which was primarily for the testing of lovers mods anyways, and has been corrupted by autosaves and quicksaves as I have learned. The mods work on a new game just fine, so I think it's the best solution. Thanks for the help! My load order is now tidy and I learned a few useful things from this thread By the way gregathit, can you give me a few details about streamline's autosave feature? I got stable version 2.1 and I set it to the recommended option with the signet, but I can find no info on autosaving anywhere. Is this feature only available on the Open Beta 3.0 version? Thanks.
gregathit Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 Ok, 1. You need to disable all lovers plugins and then open wrye bash and rebuild your bashed patch. You should not have any lovers files inside your bashed patch except for the lovers organs. The fact that you do have lovers files in your bashed patch means that you have broken scripts. That is why we keep saying no lovers files in your bashed patch! 2. After rebuilding your bashed patch leave your lovers files disabled and start the game and then make your clean save. 3. Or as you said you can just start a new game but you need to rebuild your bashed patch and get those lovers files out of there. The way you do it is by disabling the lovers plugins and then rebuilding the bashed patch. The only lovers plugins that should be in the bashed patch are the sexual organs ones as I said before. I use streamline 3.1beta. Install the beta and the patch and you are golden. There is an excellent guide after you install streamline. You can find all the documentation in oblivion\data\streamline\ it will walk you through all the features including the autosaves.

I observe every section of the patch before patching to make sure nothing extra is checked in. I have no idea how the majority of my plugins attached themselves (other than the sexual organs ones which I made sure were in). I think my understanding of how bashed patches work is too limited Anyways I just finished fixing the patch and will now see into creating clean saves!

The best thing to do is disable all lovers file (excepting sexual organs if you use those) and then rebuild your bashed patch. Check your bashed patch afterwards to make sure no lovers files are in it. The reason this occurs is that Wrye is trying to minimize conflicts. It doesn't realize that in doing so it is breaking scripts...

And found that Estrus had a LOT of info stored in the save, even though i rarely actually cast any estrus spells. Deactivating Estrus reduced my save size quite a bit and, more importantly, improved performance. Just for you to be aware of this.

I only ask because I haven't seen that with version 14.2.

Honestly, I don't see any major red flags that jump out at me with your load order. You do need to pick only one of these: 7F Beautiful People 2ch-Ed MS Elves - Sc.esp <---right now this is just a wasted esp 80 Beautiful People 2ch-Ed MS Elves - NoSc.esp <---this file is overwriting the one above it (the SC version) since in cases of conflict the mod lowest in the load order "wins". I don't know what this is: LoversUtilityFunctions.esp Worst case you may need to disable all lovers mods and see if that helps your loading time. If not then start disabling some of your other mods a couple at a time until you find the culprit. Lovers and especially tamago does contain a lot of scripts and you pretty much have the bulk of the lovers mods enabled. How big are your save game files (both the .ess and the .obse ones)?

Just to give you some examples: Playing time 2.39.50: .ess file: 3,332kb .obse file: 189kb and Playing time 57.43.01: .ess file: 7,394kb .obse file: 305kb The second example is a game at nearly 58 hours and my obse file is nearly 1/3 the size of yours. What this tells me is you have some scripts that are spamming errors. Try loading up your saved game and hitting the console after it loads to see what errors are spamming at you. Just to give you some examples: Playing time 2.39.50: .ess file: 3,332kb .obse file: 189kb and Playing time 57.43.01: .ess file: 7,394kb .obse file: 305kb The second example is a game at nearly 58 hours and my obse file is nearly 1/3 the size of yours. What this tells me is you have some scripts that are spamming errors. Try loading up your saved game and hitting the console after it loads to see what errors are spamming at you. [/quote'] I did what you said and I seen no errors at all, just scripts loading up and no activity after that(unless an lover event happens like 2 npcs get together) edit: I created a new game(saved in the sewer) and the file size was: .ess file: 1.344kb .obse file: 874kb and it took around 5-10 seconds to load. I also noticed sometimes plugins msgs load right after hitting new game before the opening cg. Also when making a custom class the game crashes when you go to the name custom class screen. I hope that helps you figure out what my problem is
