NifScope, NiAlphaProperty and transpert panty setting help

So, I got that vanilla armor edit package and the replacer ESP.

http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/13004

The stock panty for alot of the armor is a black almost too plain, and there is an optional download for some cooler looking panties with more detail to them. And the bonus of being able to make part of them semi-transparent.

However, you have to do the transperance yourself.

The modder who provided the file is Japanese, and had this to say:

------------------

*** About Black texture version ***

There is mesh-like processing on crotch cloth from the front.

There is similar processing in the buttocks side, but may not see it.

When you want to make mesh-like panties, please add "NiAlphaProperty" to Panty object using Nifskope.

------------------

And then said you either know how to do this, or don't and won't provide details because it's too complicated and English isn't his language.

I've played around a little bit in NifScope, but not enough know how to do something like this. All I've done is remove or make small tweaks to piece positioning.

I attached how the panty should look as provided by the mod author.

And the whole collection shot, that shows a modified and un-modified version.

I'm not sure why there are two .nifs...maybe for variations...I'll attached them her for reference for whoever has time to help me.

I found a few threads and kind of tried to mess with it. But after 2 hours...I can't get it to work.

Help with this would be appreciated. Much thanks in advance.

Good post, didn't help me though. What I got out of it was summed up in this post:

To enable transparency, open the nif in nifskope.

Select the NiTriShape where you want transparency, right-click on it and select Node>Add Property>NiAlphaProperty.

A NiAlphaProperty node is created, change its flags to 4844 and its threshold to 128.

Select the NiTriShape again, go to the last lane of the block details and in Properties, replace None with the number of the NiAlphaProperty.

But the file already has those settings like that, and the mesh transperancy isn't working still.

okay, figured it out. Thanks for that thread.

Part of the problem was, the file I was looking at was an edited panty file...it had the settings already there...which was only confusing me.

Once I started poking around at other files, I found the ones I needed to edit.
