Invisible Thalmor Boots

Recommended Posts

Alright so, I've installed a bunch of armor mods, with the primary one being CT77 armor replacer for UUNP (UNPB)
I use UNPB body replacer with Demonica version of fair skin textures, I also use femfeet.
It seems that whenever anyone in the game equips thalmor clothe boots, their feet immediately become invisible. I don't know what's causing the problem and it's driving me insane trying to fix it.

Here's my load order for you to scrutinise:

Someone please help me, I figured it might just be that the Thalmor boots are pointing to the wrong Skyrim mesh or texture or something but I don't know and can't figure it out.

I see this when creating a BashedPatch.  In my case it was set to ThalmorBoots (not sure of the specific name), but should have been looking for ThalmorBoots_1 as the value in one of the entries in the BP.  I found and fixed this by editing the BashedPatch using Tes5Edit.  It was in the ArmorAddons section of the BP - try looking look for the boots there, then drag the ThalmorBoots_1 to the bashed patch and that should take care of it.  There was also another boot that had this issue, and it was right next to the ThalmorBoot entry (ForswornBoot, maybe?)  I can't tell you for sure right not - not near my home computer...

Dunno if you still need help figuring this out, XanatosVonFiction, but I thought it might be helpful to post some more detailed instructions, in case anyone else comes here with this problem, like I did, but doesn't know how to figure out the TES5Edit interface.

First off, load up TES5Edit - probably from inside your mod manager, depending which you use.  In the Plugin Selection window that pops up, scroll down to where your Bashed Patch is listed - should be at or near the bottom.  Right click on it, choose "Select None" then check the box next to just the Bashed Patch again. Now click OK.

It's going to take a little while for it to load everything.  Don't try to do anything until the status text in the bottom left says "Background Loader: finished"

In the left window, you'll see all the mods that your Bashed Patch is combining, and your Bashed Patch should be the last entry - click the + sign next to it, then look for "Armor Addon" in the list that expands under it and click it's + too.  Now you've got a list of a whole bunch of armor pieces.

Assuming you're looking for the Thalmor Boots (if it's a different piece of armor, look for that instead), it should be somewhere in the top third of the list, and probably is highlighted in red.  Should be named ThalmorBootsAA under EditorID, and under FormID is called 00065BBE. Click on that line, and it'll pop up several columns of stuff in the right window.

Here you'll find a column for each of the mods that's got data on this piece of armor, for example the base Skyrim.esm, the Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch.esp, etc. They should be sorted from left to right in the same order as you've got them set to load in your mod manager.  On the end you should see your Bashed Patch. In the rows are all the traits and features that are associated with this item - you should see a section that's highlighted in red. For me it was Female World Model. Now, all you have to do is click and drag the entry under your next-to-last-loading mod over to the box to its right, under your Bashed Patch. This will replace the file pointer currently in your Bashed Patch, which is pointing to the wrong place, with the path for the file you want.

It's going to pop up a scary window asking if you're sure you want to do this. Wait for the confirmation button to light up, and say yes.  You're done! just close TES5Edit, and it'll save your changes to your Bashed Patch file automatically. Next time you load up your game, you - and anyone else of your gender wearing Thalmor Boots, should have feet again!

Thank you so much, this fixed my issue. While I understood 'basically' what was wrong, I never would have been able to fix it without these instructions. Over a year later and it worked.
