Pogo224 Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 WW is working fine for me. My issue however is that when I extract other animations I've downloaded to the proper mod file, and not in their own files as to not bury them, they do not load into the game. The only animations I have available are the stock WW animations. The skin I've extracted does not load as well. I have ensured mods are active, updates are to date, and mods were still activated after updating. This is becoming quite frustrating as I cannot figure out the issue. I'm hoping it's something simple that makes me look silly. In short, the menu that pops up when I open the game, only recognizes the WW vanilla work. I have loaded into to the game to make sure it wasn't just a series of flukes, the really are just not there.
TURBODRIVER Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 Hey Pogo224!Installation MistakesThe most common mistakes happen to everybody so check them regardless of your pride and computer knowledge. Please don't use the installer for Windows on Linux or Mac systems. It's not designed for it and you don't need it to install the game.1. Files structure of mods is pretty strict and putting mod files into too many folders will cause the game to not find them. If your mods are in a folder that is in a folder that is in a folder that is in a folder, you most likely have to fix that. Don't do too many folders, the game can't find the files in them.2. After every game update, you have to enable mods in settings again. Every single time when the game gets updates all of your mods get disabled. Enable them in settings.3. Extract downloaded mods. Some of them might need to be in a ZIP or RAR files, but a lot of them require unpacking. Extract them no matter what and if they don't include a note that you shouldn't do it, then you probably should do it.4. Multiple mods versions. If your mods folder is a mess, you probably have the same mod installed multiple times. Having WickedWhims installed twice or more is a huge mistake. Remove everything related to WickedWhims and install it again.5. Update. Outdated mods are the most common issue when a game update occurs and you might not be even aware of it.
Pogo224 Posted April 21, 2017 Author Posted April 21, 2017 Thank you for the troubleshooting list Turbo. I have tripled checked those things to look for, and it appears none of those items are causing the issue. The Sims game is acting like the files are not even there, when they very clearly are. I extracted the PACKAGE files direct to the Mods folder. Could you perhaps shed some more light as to a direction I need to look?
TURBODRIVER Posted April 21, 2017 Posted April 21, 2017 You claim that WickedWhims is working, but other mods aren't and you should have them in the same place as WickedWhims so that just doesn't add up. If you haven't violated the first or third point of the list I posted then I don't have a solution for you. I don't see how that would be possible.
Pogo224 Posted April 25, 2017 Author Posted April 25, 2017 Hahaha. Exactly why I am so friggin' confused.
