Dee383 Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 Recently I Have Come Across A Lot Of Clothes That I Would Love To Have In Different Colours , How Much Work Does It Take To Recolour Clothes For Personal Use ?
Raf Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 Hmmm, you will need knowledge about a graphics program (photoshop, gimp, etc...) and another tool to extract and integrate the textures (like sims4studio). There are tutorials in their site.
kishar Posted April 14, 2017 Posted April 14, 2017 It's actually very easy. You just need 3 things... 1) Sims 4 Studio 2) Photoshop or similar image editor that can manage alpha images 3) .dds plugin for your image editor There are lots of detailed tutorials out there, but here are the basic steps... Open Sims 4 Studio Create a stand alone recolor package for the item you want to recolor Export the texture you want to change. Save it as a .dds Open the .dds in Photoshop, then make whatever changes you want Save your changed image as .dds. Make sure you 'SAVE AS' and select mipmaps In Sims 4 Studio, add a new swatch to your package and import the new .dds to the swatch Save and put the new package in your mods folder Open TS4 and test your new package It took me a few tries to get the hang of it, but once you get it figured out, it's very easy.
BruceWayne Posted April 15, 2017 Posted April 15, 2017 It's relatively easy. Here are some tutorials. http://sims4studio.com/thread/397/create-standalone-recolor-custom-content?page=1 http://sims4studio.com/thread/163/sims-studio-recolor-options-explained?page=1 You may need an account to read these.
dardev Posted April 15, 2017 Posted April 15, 2017 If is only for outfits, I prefer CASTools rather than S4Studio. It's almost the same, but options are more explicit. You can easily see all needed images (texture, bump, glow, shadow and specular) and all other settings. You can edit any CAS part (outfit, hair, tattoo, skin details...) but skins. Always need graphic soft (PhotoShop, Gimp...) to edit DDS image file. I use PS with Nvidia nVIDIA plugin.
