alako Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 Here are a few mods that I find very useful, feel free to add to the list!! Dual Wield Parrying Nexus Link Ever want to block your enemy while holding a sword at your off hand? This mod add an button (default: V) for you to parry!! Auto First Person Camera Nexus Link What's the point for making a beautiful character if you can't look at her all the time? If you are like me who like to play in 3rd person and use a bow, this mod is definitely for you! The mod automatically switch you to 1st person view when your bow is fully draw. Then switch back to 3rd person view afterwards. Ring of Ultravision - Detect Life Undead and Nighteye Nexus Link Ever miss the life detection ring in Oblivion? This mod adds a few rings that adds life detection for all enemy NPC types. It even has one ring that allows you to detect dead NPC bodies. Faster Mining Nexus Link Strike the mine 3 times instead of 9 times, making mining much faster. It won't correctly display how many orb you get from mining though. Longer Sprinting Nexus Link Reduce the amount of stamina cost from sprinting. Lots options to choose from.
diegoforfun Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 @Alako Oh nice finding dude! It'll be very usefull! Thanks for the links!
GHJKL Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 Armed to the teeth Nexus Link Will make more than the current equipped weapon visible. It's only for vanilla weapons though, but there are addons that make it work for certain weaponpacks like jaysus swords. Dual Sheath plus Shields on Back Nexus Link Will make that when using two one handed weapons both are sheathed and not one sheathed weapon and one magically appearing weapon. Mercy Nexus Link Will make that npc's that beg you to spare them stop attaking you a second later. SkyUI Nexus Link Better inventory SKSE Link Skyrim Script Extender, Needed for a lot of mods.
Kenley Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 Mining Flames is very useful, it makes the Flames spell more than just a starting spell but another way to mine. Takes about 2 seconds to deplete an ore deposit.
Yanazake Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 Live another Life Lets you start the game in a couple of different ways. This means you don't even see the first dragon until you actually want to. Perfect for custom races. Bandolier Bags and Pouches Lets you craft some bags to help you carry more things. Simple, but visually nice and pretty useful. Correct PS3 button icons For whoever has a ps3 and the Motioninjoy program to play pc games. Changes skyrim's XBOX buttons into PS3 buttons. Time on loading screen Displays a small clock at the corner of your load screen. Helps you keep track of time on those long play sessions Dual Wield Blocking animations This is probably linked in the main mod, Dual Wield Blocking, but it's a good idea to tell people that there is a different animation for blocking to make you FEEL like you're blocking xD There is also a fix for whoever uses BBP, but I don't remember where that is. Glowing ore veins Because they're pretty hard to see! Readable Dragon Alphabet It lets you read what each word of power is, with slightly smaller text over the dragon alphabet. It's pretty simple on it's own, until you use... Thuumic With this, you can FUS RO DAH directly on your mic, and the game will recognize. [just like the xbox kinectic patch that could reach pc and ps3 too, somehow] There are a few extra functions like turning into a werewolf, calling your horse or companion, and the more you use it, the better it works.
alako Posted July 12, 2012 Author Posted July 12, 2012 No Helmets Required Nexus Link Quite a few perks require you to wear helmet in order to activate their effect. This mod remove the requirement of having to wear a helmet, so you don't have to cover your character's face.
FastestDogInTheDistrict Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 For gameplay, performance, etc. - I can recommend the guide offered by STEP. You don't need to follow it religiously - I know I didn't. But the improvement in my game has been VASTLY improved on many levels. It's definitely worth a browse! No Helmets Required Nexus Link Quite a few perks require you to wear helmet in order to activate their effect. This mod remove the requirement of having to wear a helmet' date=' so you don't have to cover your character's face. [/quote'] I use "Hide All Headgear". You can still wear helmets & get the extra armour, but they're invisible.
Yanazake Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 Not sure if you can count these as USEFUL, but it's a nice way to expand Vanilla equipment in a pretty much lore-friendly way. Extended vanilla weapons and Immersive Armors
Yanazake Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 So, this was dragged down into Oblivion? [no pun intended] I'm casting reanimate corpse on this thread and hope it doesn't get blasted away like dead dragons~ Convenient Horses Makes horses MUCH more useful, and less dumb in combat/travel/everthing. Also, horses for companions! Wearable Lanterns For those who like to use darker nights that force you to carry a torch or something, comes in various options.

jyrttiah Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 Unofficial Skyrim Patch Fixes things that Bethesda should have fixed. Kudos to the makers of this mod. Categorized Favorites Menu "This mod replaces the single favorites menu with several categorized favorites menus, with subcategories." Skyrim Spells Restored Because Bethesda couldn't be bothered to keep all the useful spells, modders had to "revive" them. Winterludes Arrowsmithing Mod Archer-friendly mod. Follower Trap Safety "If you ever hated followers and summoned creatures for triggering traps, getting both of you into a tight situation or you were trying to guide them around the pressure plates, then this mod is for you." Heal Other Mod "Need to heal your companions from afar with the 'Heal Other' spell? But forced to heal from a close range?? Here is your solution." Respectful Lydia - Willing Burden Carrier "This mod replaces Lydia's sarcastic, disrepectful "I am swoooorn to carry your burden" with another saying of your choice." Map Overhaul "This mod aims to provide the best map experience via .ini tweaks, high quality map LODs, and improved user interface."
alako Posted August 11, 2012 Author Posted August 11, 2012 Better archery Eagle Eye perk Let you zoom in a lot closer with the Eagle Eye Perk. Great for figuring out what the heck you are aiming at! ENB SSAO and DoF Toggler for Skyrim Let you press just 1 key (remember to press backspace to refresh) to enable or disable SSAO/DOF. ShowRaceMenu Alternative Add a spell to trigger ShowRaceMenu, but if you change your race, the game won't reset all skill.
tsuki no mori Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 Lots of the above are in my must-have list too, especially SkyUI. Some others I can't live without: A Quality World Map - With Roads Nexus link It claims that it has all roads. It doesn't but I still wouldn't be without it. Bound Pickaxe Spell Nexus link Who wants to carry a heavy pickaxe all the time? Dragon Real Shout Nexus link Doesn't make game play easier but, having the dragons actually Thu'um instead of just roaring is great immersion. The horse mod that I use: Educated Horses Nexus link Tell your horse to stay or follow, usable saddle bags. FSM in a jar Nexus link LOL, just kidding. It just makes me happy to know it exists in my Skyrim.
Yanazake Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Proper Aiming Tweaks the first and third person [specially 3rd person] aim to make the Arrow hit closer to where the crosshair reticle is.

Yanazake Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 Someone should edit the first page, listing and categorizing the suggested mods. There's a lot of good stuff here, but as it grows, it might start to be hard to find something really interesting.
ibanez85 Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 this one is good for me, you guys / gals should try it too especially when you feel * suck * with mountains Flyable Broom Stick
