Fishing Mods

I've found two fishing mods, The Art of the Catch and Fishing in Skyrim, both are on the Nexus and I was wondering if anyone has an opinion on which is better.  I would like to start a new character, a sorta ranger, hunter type using some survival based mods.  What I'm looking for is something that isn't too complex or full of micromanagement but feels immersive.

I'd say The Art of the Catch.

Mostly because it is released and updated later than Fishing in Skyrim.

Even if Fishing in Skyrim has more endorsements, Art of the Catch has a higher chance of being stable. Plus, it's by Chesko, a good mod author. (He's also responded to player questions in the bugs page)

Therefore, in terms of stability, I'd go with the former (Art of the Catch).

Additionally, based on the description, AOTC is simpler in functionality and added items compared to FIS.

Just make sure you test out any fishes added by other mods. It may have some incompatibility with non-vanilla creatures.

I played Art of the Catch and it works pretty well.

In terms of gameplay is very easy - there's an animation to put the pole in the water, then you pick a fish. The chance can vary, but it's pretty high and fast, which means imho it shouldn't be installed in some survival gameplay, to not unbalance.

Like all of Chesko's mods they are very well thought out and not just thrown together they are designed for ease of use and not complicated. If only all mods were like that :-/

I've not tried Fishing in Skyrim, but Chesko's #1

Art of the Catch works well with iNeeds and Realistic Needs.

And hell, its pretty cool to stand on the bank of the White River in Riverwood and do a bit of fishin' :P
