azazazaz Posted March 29, 2017 Posted March 29, 2017 I choose between 1060 and 1070 What ammount of VRAM need for unproblematic using 4K body textures? maybe someone have video with afterburner overlay?
Guest Posted March 29, 2017 Posted March 29, 2017 What monitor will you be running the game on? What settings will you be playing on? Do you plan to you an ENB? I would highly recommend the 1070 because it has more use outside of Skyrim and will enable you to place next gen video games since many games are becoming more graphically demanding. But if you're REALLY tight on money then the 1060 is the way to go. Then again it depends on whether you're getting the 3GB or the 6GB 1060. I used a 970 and maintained 60 FPS with everything ultra and a few 4k texture mods. However ENBs gave me a lot of trouble. Now I have a 1070 and everything is fine for every game.
Dallas-Arbiter Posted March 29, 2017 Posted March 29, 2017 I have a 1060 3gb, Skyrim with an ENB, ultra high settings (everything up all the way) lots of ini tweaks to make the shadows look awesome which takes up a lot of preformance, 1080p (downsampled from 2715x1527) 2K land textures, 4k body and armor textures, I get 50-55 fps outdoors, constant 60 fps indoors. And in the ENB, just about everything that can be turned on is, and everything that can be turned on high is as well. Without the ENB it runs 60 fps no matter what.

I have great chance to crash game on change location or load game. About 1070: for today its not actual videocard, shops have only bad variants 1070 (bad cooling,High noise level, etc.) I rarely play in games and i play only in online games. In principle, on my video card i can still play those games in which I play but her VRAM not enought for modded skyrim :/ 1060 have 3x vram about 760.i think its enought but not sure.
Spankbanker Posted March 29, 2017 Posted March 29, 2017 I'd go with the 1070. Easily worth the extra ~100$ and just get a warranty if you're afraid of it messing up (EVGA includes a three year warranty at no extra charge).
Guest Posted March 29, 2017 Posted March 29, 2017 The 1070 doesn't have ANY of the issues you just listed. That was an issue with the early 1080 FTW cards but that was fixed after December 2016. Also what is your CPU? A lot of the times ENBs are CPU intensive.
