Why does the widow fear her dead husband finding out she enjoys sex?

So there my character was, sticking it to this ample-chested beauty whose husband died on my sword a few months before.

Yet she will not shut up about how awful it would be if he found out, that she was such an awful wife for cheating on him, that he would be furious,

Hello?! The fool is dead. He could care less about who stuffs you at this moment.

That tale leads me to my next problem. Widows. I understand the game tracks who is married and LoversVoice SSP applies the appropriate text. However, how does that work? I looked for hidden flags, conditions of the text, etc, but I am as blind as a bat when it comes to code.

I want the widows to realize they are women in need, and available again, and to stop worrying what their dead husband would do if he found her being shtooped by a passing Nord.

Any ideas on how to adjust the mod so that these widows are no longer married?

(Oh, I did use the search function, using only the word married. Four pages of hits, none on this subject.)

Extremely simple to do; attach an OnDeath script to the husband. When he dies, remove the widow from the married faction.

Or if you really want to take it a step further, add her to a widow faction in addition to removing her from the married faction and add specific dialogue for that.

If you're really, really worried about breaking things (which, given the fact we're talking about Oblivion, could be a concern) you should not remove the widow from the married faction but instead add a check to all the married dialogue to see if the widow is in the widow faction, then disable the dialogue. However, this is incredibly tedious and takes considerably more time.

I'm not sure how the esp works anymore - haven't touched Oblivion in months - but there may be some kind of token items added to the NPC. Check if you need to remove those during the OnDeath script. I heavily doubt it, though.

I found the lines!

They were under the Conversation tab. The married women were in the conditions of the response. I deleted those who were widowed, or if I felt she just would not care (Skjorta comes to mind...), or if they were not married at all.

Some of the widows I did leave in, on lines where they were NOT whining about getting laid 'by another'. I figure it has been a while for some of them   :)

EDIT: There appear to be flags (clothing pieces) assigned to the married women as well. Removed these, and they are no longer married. I decided to make one of the reserve flags into a widow flag and add widow dialogue for those carrying that flag. Problem solved.
