Windbrand Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 Does anyone know which files control the body/skeleton of companions? I have companions Sooji, Ria, and Lusia, and for some reason their body shapes/skeletons are different from my player character. So I want to make them all the same by swapping the body/skeleton files around. Thanks.
shedidwhat Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 Im not seeing any skeletons with Ria or Sooji mod as you have to download the version based on your skeleton so it should be using your skeleton meshes\actors\character\character assets female unless your using a race that uses its own skeleton so what race is your charactor using ?
Windbrand Posted July 3, 2012 Author Posted July 3, 2012 I'm using the sanhoshin character (Nord race). They're definitely different, because Sooji/Ria are about half a head shorter and a bit skinnier but with larger breasts than my player character, while Lusia is about the same height but just with larger breasts. I noticed there is a "character assets" and "character assets female" folder. "Character assets" has the body files as well as a "skeleton.nif" file, while "character assets female" only has skeleton files but named something like "skeleton_female.nif".

[/quote'] The skeleton isn't the only thing that actually controls overall character/actor height. It contributes (depending on the scale of the skeleton), but the race/actor form is where the final height scale is set. Basically, you can have an entire race of actors using the same skeleton, but all different heights. The vanilla game uses the skeleton.nif for ALL humanoid males, and skeletonbeast.nif for Khajiits and Argonians (as it incorporates the tails). Skeleton_female.nif is used for humanoid females. Skeletonbeast_female is used for Khajiit/Argonian females. Essentially, you need to open the actor mods in the Creation Kit, where you can access their actor forms to adjust their height to whatever you want. Trykz
Windbrand Posted July 3, 2012 Author Posted July 3, 2012 Thanks for the info. I have found out that the sanhoshin character is not using the skeleton/body files in "character assets female", because I edited the skeleton from there and my companions were affected (thus Sooji/Ria/Lusia indeed use vanilla body/skeleton files), but my player character was not affected. Now I just have to find out what files is the sanhoshin character using.
mayatola Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 I don't know if it matters to you or not, but the companions are Breton. If you want them to be normal height (1 in the race scale/height, like Redguard, Imperial, Bosmer, Dunmer), you can just select them and type "setscale 1.05" in the console. I've also been having some weird issues with skeleton and BBP in general as well. Putting the skeleton files in the character assets (as well as character assets female) seemed to fix it for me, but that was just for custom races.
