labrat Posted February 20, 2017 Posted February 20, 2017 Using niftools 20 june 2016 it's quite possible to import .kf animations into Blender 2.78b, but seems to be impossible to export them. Is that a Neomonkeus fuckup, or am I missing something obvious?
Guest Posted February 20, 2017 Posted February 20, 2017 I can be wrong, but I tell you how I understood it - since Blender 2.5+ the animation system has changed at the point that new tools are not compatible, i.e. you can't even downgrade saving as "legacy" to use it in 2.49, and I guess this is what niftools should make when exporting. However your best deal could be posting on niftools forums, them devs are still around. I really wish I'll be wrong, new versions have tools to optimize baked animations...
D_ManXX2 Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 have you tried to export as object from newer blender and import that object in older blender ?? then once in older blender you can use the the normal nifscript to export the animation. That is how it always worked from what i can remember.

As far as I know this doesn't work with animations since Blender 2.5+ the animation system has changed at the point that new tools are not compatible, i.e. you can't even downgrade saving as "legacy" to use it in 2.49 If in some ways you managed to make it work, it wouldn't be bad if you describe how
D_ManXX2 Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 Are you sure ?? will try it out it was along time ago i used this method but the way i did it was like this. there was no script to import at all in newer blender so i had to import it with very old blender 2.49b save the template then open the template in newer blender afcourse this was not working anymore when you change stuff in newer blender and then save with newer blender so i had to export the entire scene as object this was possible to import back into the older blender now i could export the animation normally. This method was also the method used when exchanging from blender to 3dmax or the other way around. I will dig into my older method how i was doing this. btw it was not object but FBX format. this way it easy exchangible between blender versions.
