Crate123 Posted February 12, 2017 Posted February 12, 2017 So Im returning after a long hiatus and I wonder. Should I install the special edition and are people making the mods for it or are people still updating the old ones for the regular edition ?
Sarge Misfit Posted February 12, 2017 Posted February 12, 2017 Mods are being made, though not so many adult as of yet. I have both installed. I play SOG for the "devious"-ness and in SSE I am set up for Frostfall and such. In short, one for fun and the second for a more serious play.
Laura Posted February 12, 2017 Posted February 12, 2017 Special edition should take off modding wise when SKSE comes out. There isn't much possible at the moment for SSE. I wonder whether or not the old version will keep receiving updates when SKSE drops for SSE.
Crate123 Posted February 12, 2017 Author Posted February 12, 2017 So if I play now I should stick to the regular edition but if I plan to play in 6 months I would probably be better off with special edition ?
Mud Posted February 12, 2017 Posted February 12, 2017 Ideally, but it'll take time for a lot of mods to update even with SKSE64 out, which was slated for a March beta release IIRC.
AuronXCZE Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 I was just about to ask the same question [i updated my rig a bit and now can run Fallout 4 on ultra without any tweaks nothing at stable 90FPS (Asus strix RX480 OG8 8GB)] Since i dit a format, im reinstalling all my games, now, i own both, Legendary and SSE and will install both, question is 1. I know skse64 has its release for alfa around march, question is, how long does a complex mod takes to convert give or take a few weeks 2. My connection is quite limited for now, so im torn apart if i should start to mod the hell out of Oldrim (we are talking 50GB of mods for my tastes to be done justice) 3. The problem is, till i tweak and download everything, it will take me around a month between the few hours i have time for playing to set up oldrim again, would it be wiser to just wait for SSE mods to gradually mod it up, or mod up oldrim and then drop it like 1 month after ?
