PubliusNV Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 For many years I've been playing Skyrim on either an external monitor or my laptop monitor, both of which had a resolution of 1920x1200. About six months ago my laptop died and I got a new one with a built-in monitor resolution of 1920x1080. Using the external monitor with a resolution of 1920x1200 worked fine with my new laptop. Well, now I'm traveling, and can't use the external monitor. I changed skyrimprefs.ini to change the resolution from 1200 to 1080, and now when I start Skyrim I see a transparent border around the screen. Skyrim is running at 1920x1080, as I can see the scenery extending to the edge of the screen, and both SkyUI messages and icons and the Steam FPS indicator show all the way to the edge of the screen, but there's about a half inch all the way around the edge of the screen that is semi transparent that I can see my desktop through. It's playable but annoying. I've tried playing around with the fullscreen and windowed settings in skyrimprefs.ini, enblocal.ini, and onetweak.ini to vary the settings for fullscreen and borderless window settings, but have not yet hit a combination that works. I've tried googling for the problem to no avail. Has anyone else seen this problem and does anyone have a solution? Thanks.
