Curie's Dialogue

Curie and Player are married. It never fails, I have it down pat.

But there is an enormous amount of dialogue she glosses over.

So OK I'm in "creation kit" right this exact second, looking for clues to set priorities on the dialogue, but so far, nothing.

She never wants to

  • conduct nocturnal experiments
  • Her heart never beats fast
  • Player never disrupts her mental functions.

She's married and stuff, she climbs into bed, so skip the advice on that,

but please say how to override some of the dialogue.

And this isn't a request, I'm not asking for tech support, I'm only wondering generally

if the NPC dialogues can be manipulated in creation kit to favor certain responses?

I did some digging into dialogue for followers, basically I wanted to extend Piper's dialogue, giving her more 'idle' dialogues, so everytime you ask 'thoughts' she'd say more then her regular 5 or so lines. In Fo4edit I noticed it's all tied to quests. So there should be a follower's quest somewhere that you need to look at and see what can be manipulated there.

 

Long story short: I think it's a quest object that you need to find and manipulate.

I looked up the word "atypical" which was in ComCurieIdles, part of the quest "ComCurie"

I'm there now.

I see stuff, I just feel like I'm watching a movie in french. How, for instance, I ask myself, would I change the default priority from "50" to something higher?

I would not want to, I answer myself, unless it had to do with a specific set of ComCurieIdles.

[GROUP] COMCurieIdlesLOVE, or [GROUP] ComCurieHello1LOVE.

It took me 30 minutes just to type that last sentence.

There's also [GROUP] COMCurieHello1INFATUATION.

She's purposely limiting her dialogue to the inane, when she knows so much more.

Maybe they figured a modder would figure it out.

But I feel sorry for the voice-actress, because most of her dialogue is never heard.

Plus I'm getting very tired of her generic [GROUP]COMCurieIdlesCOMMONWEALTH.

If there is a script controlling the quest, I am not seeing it.

There's a 199% chance I just typed a typo I can't see until I post, so please forgive this in advance.

 

I found a dialogue box named "topic Info" and in it are the groups in which I could modify stuff.

Unfortunately for me, the inane dialogue is much more tedious and dangerous to modify.

The conditions exist for each entry (sunrise, sunset, the weather).

I just finished changing the entire infatuation group from != to == in-love, I hope it doesn't have a cow.

 

Now I'm changing the worldspace of a condition from "commonwealth" to "diamond city".

So now curie won't worry about the rain unless we're in Diamond City.

You can see maybe that instead of pushing a particular dialogue, I am (very slowly) eliminating the alternatives.

 

If anyone reading this has a creation kit and wants to know what I did, I will upload a ESP if I can right now.

It could not be used in your game as-is, it would be missing a requirement ("restraints" on nexus)
