How The FUCK Do I use bodyslide?

First of all: I don't want to come off as rude nor arrogant, but I am just too frustrated and extremely irritated with the lack of support and explanation associated with converting newly downloaded outfit sets (such as a CBBE armor replacer mod for vanilla armors).

I've wasted so much fucking time trying to figure out how to convert the outfits to match the body I've made in bodyslide 2 and it's impossible for me because there's absolutely no documentation nor tutorials available ANYWHERE online to explain how this shit works. All the articles are explaining how to edit outfits one by one to match the body but none on how to actually use "groups" and "batch build"

What the fuck?

I think actually reading things might help you quite a bit.

It's also decently useful to prevent being seen, if not as rude, at least as foolish.

This is the page for bodyslide, i'm pretty sure you visited it to download the tool.

On the description page, which is also the landing one, so you don't need to search for anything, the first link you come across (called, who whould have known, documentation and guides) will take you on a page full of tutorials and, look and behold, the first one you find under videos is exactly what you're looking for, and with moving pictures!

Took me all of 3 minutes, half of those spent typing this smug post that'll hopefully help you.

This forum also has guides and tutorials of it's own. For example, check my signature for the one I made for Devious Devices. Same rules apply to building clothing and armor.

Thanks for the reply guys! I watched the video but it was for fallout 4 and I don't have an option for the CBBE vanilla preset to access all the armors - what should I do?

And I read the tutorial for building DD items, but there's no groups or anything of that sort for DDs nor any armors

DDa, DDx, Cursed Loot and Heretical Resources mos definitely have groups. They do not appear, if you select them from Group Filter menu?

Filed is just right from Outfit/Body list, with a small arrow down. This arrow opens the Group menu. I just realized that I had not added that to my post.

Thanks but that's the guide I was referring to in the original post, it doesn't help w/ finding groups for armor replacements or any groups at that :/

How would I add the groups so that the armors will show up under the first drop down bar?

Posted

If you want to create a group, just go into Group Manager (top right in Bodyslide), create a new one (insert the name in the field next to "add group", then click "add group") and put the outfits you want in (select them from the list on the right and then add). And don't forget to save it.

Or you can just batch build filtering them by outfit and not group, which is also useful for sets that doesn't have any body preset associated to them. Most sets have some sort of prefix (like, the remodeled armors have all the CT77 prefix), so top right outfit filter, put something to identify the outfits you want (again, for example, CT77) and click batch build on the lower left corner (check the morphs if you need/want them). On the subsequent popup menu you can still choose if something you don't want went in.

Make sure to have your preferred body presect selected before clicking batch build; it doesn't matter which outfit you have selected at the moment, though.

Don't know if this will help you, but here's a few pictures of where the groups menu is.

I have it highlighted in blue.

Click the magnifying glass and you get two options. Click choose groups.

Pick the groups you want to convert.

post-1076484-0-92754000-1486668341_thumb.png

Now, down on the bottom click Racemenu Morphs, then hole Crtl and click "Batch Build".

post-1076484-0-43237600-1486668421_thumb.png

Choose the outfits you want from this menu.

Then when you get this menu, navigate to where you want to put the newly converted meshes.

LISTEN ... I understand your annoyance, I also did not know how to use the program at first, and also claim lack of documentation, but you only need a few minutes of your time with the official documentation and ready! You going to be able to convert armors and find or create groups. Although I do not know why you need so many groups? in reality they are not so useful

This video is for Fallout 4, WE KNOW, but work with Skyrim as well and VERY well. Look it again ... The whole explanation about the GROUPS is there. If you use UNP body, then only change CBBE for UNP when CBBE be mentioned in the video

If that explanation is not what you are looking for, show us images or a video of your problem

I think you are confusing, BodySlide is not integrated with the vanilla armor, you need an external mod to convert them or a NIF file

Yes I do know where the group menu is, and when I create a new group, the vanilla armors do not show up in the list on the right, nor any armors except for some "CBBE Never Nude" things

I am trying to batch build a CBBE vanilla armor replacer to my custom preset, but I can't find the group for it, and when I click on the Outfit/Body drop down bar, there aren't any outfits showing up like the video that serpientesmile linked when the guy selected the vanilla preset and pressed the Outfit/Body drop down bar

I've tried changing my group filters but it doesn't do anything

Have you tried not to select any group? that will show you the entire list of available armor. The groups only serve to isolate things and facilitate the searches, if you do not select any group will appear everything available

If your bodyslide software isn't up to date, there is a high chance that you are using a version in which the group manager is a bit wonky. Please ensure you have the latest version: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/49015/?

Following, and as serpientesmile said, you first need a conversion mod that has bodyslide feature such as Chronotrigger77's conversion. Once bodyslide detects the outfits, you'll see them in the list. The different groups and presets are managed through xml files, and osp files for the most recent slidersets such as DDx/DDa. Groups are basically a list of outfits created for ease of management, nothing special to them. If your outfits are not in the list, then they may not be loaded by bodyslide at all.

Which conversion mod are you trying to install?

Posted

Yes I have tried selecting no groups in the group filter and still no luck, I've also reinstalled bodyslide 2 and outfit studio from the nexus page and still nothing

I'm trying to build "Killer Keos Skimpy CBBE", the download just has the Mesh folders without any xml files

Well, that set is not BodySlide compatible on it's own. I am unsure if no one ever made sliders for it.

Edit: Or is that what you are actually trying to do?

What do you see exactly in the armor section above the body section? nothing?

If the file only contains the Mesh and not Caliente Tools, it's not a BodySlide armor. And will not appear in the armor section of BodySlide

I found these. I have not tested either of them, so I can't say a thing about their quality.

No HDT:

BodySlide Outfits and Mods by Caliente - ChronoTrigger77 - ousnius - stuffed_bunny

http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/32731/?

HDT:

CBBE HDT Conversion of Killerkeo's skimpy armor replacer by stikegio

http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/65416/?

I will stick with Remodeled Armor for UUNP Bodyslide HDT (Gamefever UUNP conversion of ChronoTrigger77´s original Remodeled Armor for CBBE Bodyslide HDT.)

Why you do not try to modify an armor only as a test in Outfit Studio? when you save the project, it will be immediately available in the armor section of BodySlide, and with that you can check if is a problem of lack of Caliente Tools or not

Believe me, I'm an ignorant girl in these things but even I can convert armors with this program, I'm turning a CBBE Schoolgirl costume to my Custom body, it's easy, a little tedious, but easy   :)

Ok so I installed the HDT conversion version and there aren't any xml files for that either, how am I suppose to select the group and batch build? And I have modified an armor manually with outfit studio to have the changes appear in game but it doesn't show up in the drop-down bar like yours, I have to open up the female body file and the armor files indvidually

Should I just reinstall skyrim and everything else? The only thing in the slider groups folder is CBBEGroups.xml

DO NOT reinstall Skyrim. Your mods are working perfectly fine the way they are intended to work.

I just downloaded what you are working with and it is not a Bodyslide conversion. It is a CBBE conversion.

If you want to be able to bodyslide something it needs to have a file called CalienteTools, and in it are three more files that will a low yo to Bodyslide it.

When you're looking for a mod to download that you can use Bodyslide with it will more than likely say that it had Bodyslide files.

Well, peace to me because I've already done a fresh install of skyrim lol, but I still have the old one on an external drive w/ its own NNM files

I just installed this: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/25259/? and it shows up as "CT77" under the Bodies/Outfits drop down bar

Thanks for the help! But why couldn't I see the default vanilla armors like the video? (Under the Bodies/Outfits drop down bar) Or is it just a fallout 4 thing?

Not, re-install the game not going to help in nothing. You need to send us images or a little video of your problem.

Try to install the outfit that I'm going to upload as an attached file

But first install this Mod  http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/53864/?

And then install the 7z file, it is the BodySlide conversion

If these clothes do not work, then the problem is the installation of BodySlide

Did you use the Fomod installation of BodySlide?
