I believe something screwed up!

While trying to make my redguards look less "moldy" I think I messed them all up. This is what I got...

No other races were effected. Bodies display correctly when nude.

MUCH appreciate it if someone could direct me to this probably simple solution!

Couple of questions then:

A. Did you rebuild your bashed patch?

B. Did you start a new game?

C. Did you archive invalidate?

As you are no doubt aware since this is a vanilla replacer it is critical to do the above (at least A and C) to make the changes happen.

OK, Hollering!

Seriously.. that didn't do it. I have perfect matchups with the neck seam. I tried a new game and the texture glitch shows up in the creation menu.. So I think it might be a skeleton issue(??) Currently using a Max compat skelly with BBB. Looking at the Better Redguard Mod I don't see that it changes the skeleton, just the feet (the FEET??)

I rebuilt the Bash and ran Archive invalidation (all 4 options)...I am out of ideas!

What body are you using? I am wondering if the head mesh is not compatible with the textures. I will DL the file and take a peek at what is in it to get some idea of what may be going on.

The skeleton should not matter in this case as it looks to be a mesh/texture problem. Somehow the UV texture mapping is wrong on the head's mesh.

Ok, it looks like some sort of a compatibility problem. I want you to try something. Disable the esp and rebuild your bashed patch. Do NOT remove any meshes or textures. Also archive invalidate and try starting a new game. See what happens then.

Vanilla redguards are using a standard imperial head mesh. Better redguards are made for vanilla imperial headmesh, so, if you have imperial head replacer installed, you get this kind of thing.

Go in "Data\meshes\characters" and rename Imperial folder. If i'm right this will probably screw some other races but redguards should be back to their normal selves with no rudimentary eyes somewhere on their faces.

Well that could be an experiment to figure out if it works. But would not be a permanent solution as it could damage more than it fixes. Could not one just add a mesh for the red guards heads via the CS so you didn't bork up any races using the modified imperial one?

Just spit balling here......

EDIT: By the way...what the heck is an internets and why are you collecting them Uriel?

Not the solution ofcource, this will only help figure out what's happening.

About the internets: In reality i can has 1 internet only, not more. It's cool to have more of em at least virtually. Also some people are saying that 'internets' are the currency used on the internets(caution, infinite loop here). So i'm 357 times(for now) reacher then the average internets user. Moreover, pluralizing things is fun.

Hope that helps.

Yup.. Messed the fuck out of the Imperials. As Blue would say.. "A clue!" (Grandkid visiting.. Have to watch Blue's Clues. Would rather stab self in face)

Sorta worked.. Got me going in the right direction. I really like what this Better Redguard does to the 'Guards. Maaaan those look good with that dark skin and a Frosted white wig!!

I'm going to keep whacking at this until I find a solution.... I suspect the answer is deep rooted in that MBP conglomeration of bat-eared goofyness... If not I'm going to blame MBP anyway, or Colorwheel.

Got it!

Seems the texture size for the faces of the Better Redguards Mod is way low.

I stretched the face in Paint.net to fit using the Imperial as an overlay. Then saved it. The females are looking good... but not the males.. didnt want to bother with them.

Thanks for your help gregathit and Uriel. You guys got me headed up the right road!

I've got a better solution 4 you:

1) Install redguards again, overwriting everything you modified(do a backup just in case, btw)

2) Copy over this files

Should work.
