Trainee Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 I have an ENB crash problem that results it either just crashes and makes the game not respond or it crashes my graphics driver. The thing is, I don't understand why it does that as I play certain games like Rainbow 6 Siege, Overwatch and GTA5 kinda well and it uses the most memory than Skyrim. Skyrim uses the least memory but is more prone to crashing than either of these 3 games (Overwatch crashing the most but less frequent than Skyrim). I am wondering why it does that. ENB - Filmbulvinter ENB GPU - Radeon RX 480 Graphics (4GB) CPU - Intel i5-3470 (3.2GHz) RAM - Corsair Vengeance DDU3 (16GB) I never had this issue with my old GPU which was the Radeon R9 200 Series (2GB). Let me know what other specs I have to put up, in case I missed some of the important ones.
Yuuen Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 From what I remember, when it comes to using AMD graphics cards you need to change certain settings within ENB. One of which I BELIEVE is "DisableDriverMemoryManager". Could be wrong. Other than that, coming from a recent personal issue I had with my graphics card basically being too new, the more recent graphics drivers started to completely break my game. Have you tried downgrading your graphics driver? Or in the case of you've had an issue like that before and are currently using an older driver, perhaps update it?
Trainee Posted January 28, 2017 Author Posted January 28, 2017 Do I have to set the ""DisableDriverMemoryManager" to true or false? Also, as for the driver, I'm using one of the older crimson drivers 1.6.2. Tried updating but it doesn't solve the issue and it makes the the problem progressively worse. Not sure what older driver's I should be using that is RX 480 compatible.

You may also want to look into the crash fixes SKSE plugin and it's UseOSAllocator option.

Didn't realize it's been activated as default now, leave it on 1.
Trainee Posted January 29, 2017 Author Posted January 29, 2017 Didn't realize it's been activated as default now, leave it on 1. So far, that has fixed the issue of my graphics driver crashing. Just need to find a way how to stop it from crashing in general.

One of two things I guess, Either a mod conflict or Do you use the SKSE Memory patch already? Perhaps you need to increase the values for your SKSE memory patch, though i'm a bit hazy on that as I'm not 100% sure if using the UseOSAllocator option makes it obsolete.

I used the memory patch, although I'm not sure if it is compatible with Crash Fix. I doubt its a mod conflict, I made sure the mods I used are compatible with each other.

It's compatible, it's just mentioned that it may or may not do anything. Oh if you're using ENB and Crash fixes, your enblocal settings should look like this for compatibility: [MEMORY] ExpandSystemMemoryX64=false ReduceSystemMemoryUsage=true DisableDriverMemoryManager=true DisablePreloadToVRAM=false EnableUnsafeMemoryHacks=false ReservedMemorySizeMb=XXXX //<|Set these to values VideoMemorySizeMb=XXXX //<|that work for your system EnableCompression=false AutodetectVideoMemorySize=false
