Newbie Question: How do you unlock an arm binder on a follower?

Can you use keys on your follower? Can they get out on their own? Can I use the Captured Dreams shop?

just take the armbinder from their inventory.

She's stuck in boots as well. I tried doing the same, but it said I lack the keys. So, I guess boots are different. =)

some items you can just take from their inventory

 

other items require you to have the correct keys (restraint keys, head restraint keys, etc) in your inventory.
