Rather Frequent CTD

So I'm running a rather modded Skyrim and all was going well until recently when I started getting frequent CTD. It's extremely sporadic as sometimes I'm able to play for hours and others it will crash almost right after I start the game up and everything else in between. I followed a guild online to help pinpoint the cause of crashes and after doing as it said I ended up with a log stating that SexLab was the last thing running before the crash.

I'm not really sure what to do from here hence why I came here to you fine gents. Any info on what to do next to hopefully alleviate my game's instability would be greatly appreciated, and I apologize for sounding like a noob here but quite frankly I kinda am when it comes to these more script heavy mods.

If its only crashing on startup.

 

Try this:

At the main menu open console and enter "coc qasmoke".

That will take you to the test cell, if it loads.

If it loads then try to load your save.

The hard part is trying to find a common cause for the crashes.

If you're lucky and your game crashes at the same point each time (like just outside Riften eg)

Then you can use that save to identify the cause.

The last thing in the Papryrus log will rarely ever point to the actual cause of a CTD, at least in part because there may be more "log" buffered that doesn't get written because of the CTD but mainly because scripts are only one possible source of CTD causing conditions.

 

Here is a comprehensive post on fixing CTDs including a way to patch (fix) many of them, it also links to a place where you can report CTDs in the hope of getting additional patches (assuming you use the existing patches, which you should).
