Is this possible? (Part 2)

That is an archived post I made almost 2 years ago asking about creating a shader effect for Skyrim. At the time, and despite CPU's patience and best efforts, I was as lost as could be, and simply couldn't get things to work out.

I've learned a bit more, and returned to that post on a whim to see if I could get it to work this time around, and I kinda did, kinda didn't.

I was able to create the esp, the magic effect, and the spell. When I do a console search I can see both the spell and the mgef is loaded into the game with form ID's and all, but I can't seem to apply them to the character via player.addspell (and I can't seem to find out how to add a mgef through the console not matter what I search).

Anyhow, I am wondering if I might have made a mistake in the CK when I named the mgef and spell. There are fields for ID and Name during creating them, and I didn't put a form ID into the ID field because I didn't have one, so I put a name similar to the name I made for the spell/effect as opposed to leaving it blank. Could that be my issue?

Otherwise, I followed the guide CPU wrote to the letter, but like I said, nothing happens when I try to add the spell via the console. It would be great if I could get this working after two years lol. Thanks ahead of time!

Remember to associate the spell to a magic art (Illusion for example) or it will not show in the list of spells.

And be sure you set it do either hands as equipping.

(Wow, CPU is me!)

The Legend Returns :)

Thanks, and I did what you said, and the spell was able to load into my spell list. Now the only problem is that when I go to cast the spell, nothing happens lol. I don't get the effect, nor do I get any colorful sparklies when I cast (but I didn't do anything for those anyhow). The hands animate as if casting, but that's it.

I went back and set a magnitude and spell cost and duration, to see if those parameters might have any effect, but so far, no go. I really feel like there must be simple that I am missing here.
