This is probably an abuse of hello everybody, but rest assure this isnt one of those posts asking for mod recommendations, rather i wanted to ask should we still use NMM for mod organizing or other programs such as BOSS and is the official texture mods worth installing? because i know it had problems when it first came out or do we still have to go with the texture mods from nexus such as the Skyrim HD - 2K Textures.

Cheers.

For the original Skyrim - not the special edition, you'll most likely want to use Mod Organizer. It does have a bit of a learning curve but makes it easier to switch mods around and such.  (not to say NMM can't work - it can function just fine, but after trying both, i personally feel Mod Organizer makes stuff easier [after the initial learning curve]).

For load orders and stuff, most people use LOOT. But, bear in mind some mods need tags added to them to allow loot to sort them properly, so check the mods download site for load order guides and stuff when adding new mods. LOOT will make mistakes at times, its only a program so just give it all the information it needs, and tweak your load order list manually if needed.

Official texture mods are 512 resolution i think? So unless your running Skyrim on a potato you are better grabbing some textures from elsewhere to make everything look nice and pretty.

For getting Skyrim up and running, there are worse options than using the STEP guide. http://wiki.step-project.com/STEP:Guide

Just tweak it to your personal liking.
