Housing Mods (ANK Castle)

Hi all!

I am really curious what mods everyone is using for housing in Skyrim. I as of now have ANK Castle, Deus Mons, and a small update to Proudspire. AS of now, I have not found one mod that gives me everything I want--like I found in Oblivion with Castle Almgard. Deus Mons is nice, but I also seem to have more crashes than not running that Mod.

What are you all running and happy with? Any suggestions or ideas?

Ank Castle, Reaper's The Dark Tower (must for evil characters), proudspire manor armory, morninghood manor (have not tried out yet), forlorn keep (didnt care for), and kagrenacs instant fortress (rather nice dwemer home that can be moved and deployed just about anywhere outside cities).

like you, i cant find one i really like, so i'm still using the dovahkiin hideout mod, with the retreat aswell. i've tried multiple ones, but only one has come close and it had a problem for me. the dovahkiin warehouse and bedroom was as close to what i want as i could find, but with my 1 hour reset mod, the house and all the mannequins would reset each hour, making it apain to display anything.

i would love a port or recreation of the one i used in Morrowind, Ravenloft. (http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=mods.detail&id=4482)

I'm using The Reserve, which is basically just a large, very open mansion with a crapton of mannequins. I edited the basement to have even more mannequins (removed the small mannequins too, they bugged a lot), so I can use them to show off various sets of armour, in case I want to wear something else, so I can quickly find it. =P

Used the Ari follower mod to turn my mannequins into her, and the mannequin script fix to make them alive (but staying on pedestal). It looks quite nice.

I generally don't spend much time there though. It really is more of an armour museum than a home.

My main gripe with most of the popular house mods is the Dwemer theme. I personally think the Dwemer areas look ugly as hell, and would never want to live in one of them. Not to mention the machine sounds a lot of the houses have - would YOU want to live in a house where you constantly hear machinery buzzing around you?

The Dark Tower house looks awesome. Totally fits my character, too. Probably the most fitting home I've seen for my character. Thanks for mentioning that.

As for other homes. I was using Deus Mons, but it seemed kind of buggy. And I heard it increases CTDs, which if so, may have been the source of some of the CTDs I've personally been having.

I also use Ank Castle, that one is a pretty good one. Though it doesn't fit my character, I use it as an epic shop :P

Awesome thanks all. These look great.

I have had the same random crashes with Deus Mons. Plus, there seems to be a conflict with it and several mods which alter the world-space. I have heard that some house mods in Skyrim (compared to Oblivion) will conflict with mods that have nothing to do with the same area.

Deus Mons is really pretty, but if I load any other house mod, it seems to crash.

Northview Mannor was not too shabby, lots of space and well laid out, but I always had mass crashes with it. I have not updated for quite some time

Castle Strunmah is really beautiful, but small comparable. The visuals remind me of Oblivion type stuff, but again, there are very few manequins and I am worried about filling it with companions.

I like the "walking" mannequin idea, so I got the multiple marrage mod and have enjoied it ever since. I have 18 "wives" currently just to display modder's work. The only problem is you cant display BBB type outfits or your machine's graphics card will begin to smoke (at least mine does :) Do the homes/castles you guys reccomended work with multiple companions?

Reaper's The Dark Tower (does not currently support companions yet)kagrenacs instant fortress (supports up to 6 companions including spouse + gives them roles inside fortress cook, guest and so on)

switched mods to using the Reserve. not a bad place, plenty of mannequins and storage space. only have 2 issues tho.

1. some lighting, in the entry hall and den, the lights are giving me some striping effects. really ugly looking effect.

and

2. poor River keeps getting attacked. i have ASIS giving me multiple spawns and a 1 hour reset mod.. so she is usually knee deep in dead wolves. might just move her inside.

it initally had the smae problem that the dovakiin warehouse had, that it wasnt set as a NoResetZOne, so it would reset eveyr hour for me, but unlike the warehouse.. this file is an esp and it was an easy fix.

Any of you all tried Amathest Hollows? It is rather small compared to Deus Mons, but really is worth it. The ambiance is fantastic and the small side quest is quick and really fun. Best with companions and overall worksmanship so far

Amethyst Hollows, Sleeping Tree Sanctuary (both amazing worldspace mods with a whole lot of convenience features)

Used Deus Mons, uninstalled due to crashes

Add Custom Storage Spells ( http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/14393 ) and a good mark/recall spell ( http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/14947 ) and I really don't need anything else.

Would like a keep though. Riverhelm conflicts with too much stuff and is not maintained anymore. ( http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/16374 )
