Note: I won't always be on, but if you want to voice act then go ahead Welcome to a thread regarding a mod I am making. Most people won't help me because they think anyone who comes here making a "Big" or "serious" mod that's going to take a long time will opt-out very soon. Well, just give me a chance and I'll prove the stereotypes here wrong. The day the Creation Kit was released, I thought of this mod. I won't give away too much information about this mod because I wouldn't want anyone copying. But I can tell you what the mod will be about, it's era, and basic gameplay design. The goal of this mod is to simulate a different game from skyrim. I personally don't know how to make a game engine and I do not plan on making one. Lol. So I'd rather do this mod. Hey, maybe if we get this mod good. It could become a dlc and do us all well. Who knows. Here's some information regarding my project: Oh and if you're joining, don't pussy out. Just do it or don't. Era: Medieval times where people used magic and swords, similar to skyrim, but not dragonborn, tamriel, blades, greybeards stuff. Conflict: The world is in turmoil and mainly, the native humans of the land don't like inhumans, I am not copying witcher 2. The scenario is actually believable if you thought about how people treated the myserious things they saw back then. Tornado = god's anger, trippin cuz they sinners. You get the point. Beginning: You start out with amnesia and slowly find out who you are. Once again, it's unlike the witcher 2. This is actually from a story me and my friends made up when we were really young. There will be a female character as well. This will be a whole new world apart from Tamriel/Skyrim. [/color] This project may be: a rocket stuck under water for several years, but radiation has loosened up the dirt it was stuck in and has now allowed one chance for the rocket's generators to launch away from the shadows and to shine high in the skies. Planned Features: New UI Custom categories of Armor Numerous clutter/static reskins SideQuest ( I have the main one planned on notepad) Future Updates: I'll post here once I have some decent things to show off. Just some things to note: There will be prostitutes, kings, quests (lol), this is lore friendly, sex scenes (any good scripters), and this will be a whole new world from Tamriel. turbosnowy Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 I see this going far... Just a word of advice, try creating some smaller mod before you decide you are going to reinvent the game. The stereotype of people crapping out is there for a reason - modding is bloody hard work and something enormous in scope is just a crazy amount of hard work that needs a dedicated team, and possibly years to make it happen if ever (see Morrowind project for Tamriel as an extreme example). I am not trying to be funny or belittle your enthusiasm, but try making some mods first (not just a universal clothing remover for which I guess you just did a filter on outfits and deleted them all in one go) that increases in scope and complexity before you start on something huge and ask for voice actors... The selling point of 'a story me and my friends made up and oh and there will be female charcter aswell' does not really cut it in the marketing stakes. Maybe get a few dungeons or quests behind you first that people enjoy and shows off your creativity/expertise with CK is my advice...
You Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 The biggest modding team that has ever gotten much done is one called Tamriel Rebuilt for Morrowind, it's also been around since before Morrowind was released. Now, do you have any modding experience in the CS? If not than I suggest starting with a few house mods before you do this so you can get the hang of it.

I've created dungeons, cities and stuff, mailmans delivering quests and I've been studying papyrus, creaiton kit since the day it came out. And yes, I do have modding experience in the creation kit, I know all the stuff about npcs, fuz voice files, how the entries work and one thing relies on another, I've made custom races, weapons (3d models, simple sword ones, I don't like modeling lol), I know how to change the weather, make houses, load doors, etc. Pretty much almost anything I'd ever need. Creation Kit is pretty simple if you investigate every item's use info and thne you'll find what you need, but as for some advanced papyrus scripts like choosing to have sex, sexual assault, i may need some guidance, but besides that, it's all easy. I'll update this thread with some stuff when I have enough for release. I have most of the characters planned out and the mainstream storyline of course. =D

Once convinced you can indeed create wonders then I am sure you will have a queue of people wanting to be the voices for your epic re-imagining of Skyrim. Just give people a reason to believe what you say

Nobody's going to join the mod, even with as little work as voice acting, if there's no tangible foundation. also . . . "thriving city" no such thing in skyrim. whiterun has what 40 residents? rorikstead is smth like 3 houses and it's called a village. lots of things in skyrim are disappointing. don't get me wrong iv'e like 700 hrs playing, so i've had my share of entertainment from it. But tbph Two Worlds II blows the doors off of skyrim for 'thriving cities'
Soulslayerzx Posted June 19, 2012 Author Posted June 19, 2012 I've been working on this since the day of release. Lol. For now, I need to port the starting village to the custom world since I was planning to have my mod take place in skyrim at first.
