Confused about installing mods ??

It is all vague do i need to unpack the bsa or can i still use the mod with bsa ?? some modders claim if you are playing with SE you still need to unpack the bsa but why do they pack there mod with bsa if i still need to unpack that afterwards ??

The old BSA format is in many cases not recognized.

You can just unpack it, and use loose files, or convert its format to the new one using CK64.

But the real problem is how do i know they used the older bsa when i try to extract it says bsa unrecognise so i take it these bsa are already converted yet when i activate it my game will just black screen so trouble shooting seem more difficult then regular skyrim.
