CASM saving causes game to freeze

Hello all,

 

I'm trying to get to the bottom of an issue I've had when trying this mod out. The thing that I've noticed is that having this mod active while using CASM causes a big problem when CASM goes to save. The game will momentarily freeze, sometimes for up to 40 seconds. I use windowed mode, and I see a crash notification "behind" my New Vegas window, but I'm guessing because I use New Vegas Anti Crash, it eventually resolves itself and then I can resume playing.

 

Any ideas about what could be causing this issue, and more importantly how I might resolve it?

I've had the same problem for quite some time.  No clue what causes it.  I always thought it was related to updating nvse co-saves that have a ton of records.  Disabling spunk seems to resolve the issue for me.  Granted this was a while back, and I was never able to confirm absolutely that spunk was the cause.  It could just be a coincidence.

 

One thing I did notice is that it ALWAYS happens when CASM auto saves, but never when you manually save.  So that's how I get around it.  I use the CASM save hotkey to save and disable all of the auto saving in CASM that I can (it still auto saves, just not as much).

 

Mine freezes for up to several minutes sometimes when it happens.  It does seem to happen more often after sex or an extended play session for me.

 

EDIT: It also seems to be related to the number of save files you have.  It doesn't seem to happen when there are only a few saves, so I try to clean out the old ones every now and again when it fills up.
