Question Posted September 25, 2016 Posted September 25, 2016 Im trying to fix a broken custom race to correctly use vampire eyes (instead of the default eyes that it came with), but I'm confused as to how to achieve the vampire eyes look. I tried reverse engineering the vanilla vampire races but that doesn't seem to work correctly. I can set the custom race to use the vanilla vampire eyes, but they just look like black eyes. For example, this is what Serana's eyes looks like in the CK : http://imgur.com/a/FKo6u That's obviously not what she looks like in the vanilla game though and giving the custom race the same vampire eyes just causes the eyes to turn black like in that screenshot. I cant figure out how the game is setting up vampire eyes on vampire NPCs. Setting the race or NPC to use vampire eyes by itself doesnt seem to be sufficient because you just end up with black eyes. Does anyone have any clue? I can add the vampire eyes to the custom race itself, but ingame they just show as black spots with no actual eyes (and no glowing effect) for some reason.

I did the same thing recently and it worked just fine. are all the vampires in your game like this? just females? Looks like the demon eyes texture ( Data\textures\actors\character\eyes\eyedemon.dds) might be overwriting your vampire eyes.

Serna looks fine ingame, but in the CK she looks like that for some reason. I tried removing the eyedemon.dds file from the textures folder and it makes no change in the CK, Serana in the preview still has the black eyes. Edit : Okay i removed the head texture and i found out that the vampire eyes arent showing up because they are positioned much higher up (these are the same vampire eyes that Serana uses). http://imgur.com/a/ghcRh How do i shift the eyes to the same position as the default eyes?

I would be tempted to copy the vanilla eye mesh over to wherever your custom races eye meshes are and then use nifskope to copy the shader properties and texture paths to use the vamp textures. what race is it btw? I might have used it / be using it.
