downdrop Posted September 20, 2016 Posted September 20, 2016 http://i.imgur.com/G0F3iIw.png See above image. Today I tried to switch from NMM to Mod Organizer... everybody recommends it over NMM. I spent the day learning the basics of Mod Organizer, had a totally stable game.. right up until I installed SexLab + SexLab Matchmaker. Everything went fubar, anytime I tried to use Matchmaker it totally locked up Skyrim. Alt F4 didn't work. Alt tab didn't work. Windows key did not work. Forcing task manager open did not work. The only way out of Skyrim was to hard reboot my system by holding down the power button. The first time this happened I had already spent half the day (I began at 9am, it's 3am now), installing all my glamour mods and everything was oh so pretty and working just fine. I spent hours trying to figure out why. No dice. I scrapped the whole profile in Mod Organizer, started fresh, and did a minimalist install of nothing but SexLab, SexLab Matchmaker, Zaz Animation Pack, and their dependencies. I noticed when using Matchmaker my player character and my chosen partner would lag out before the animations would begin. Okay no problem, I could deal with that.. But after installing UUNP (via BodySlide) and SG Female UNP Textures Renewal, everything went wrong. HDT Physics Extension works fine, along with UUNP and SG Female UNP Textures. It's not until I try to activate Matchmaker through SexLab that my system just locks. In NMM I breeze past all of this. Is it Mod Manager, is it SexLab, is it Matchmaker? I would love to use Mod Organizer, the moment I started it up I recognized its potential. But something is going haywire somewhere... Help please.. edit.. oh! and all of this is on fresh new saves, right past the beginning chop off your head dragon sequence in the beginning of the game. FNIS was user generated and the overwrites were saved in a new mod.. not sure if my system specs matter.. but I'm on an i5-4430 with a 760GTX and 24GB of Vengeance RAM.. must sleep now Will check post in the morning! downdrop Posted September 20, 2016 Author Posted September 20, 2016 So I tried to check my screenshot on imgur this morning and the URL said too many errors, LOL. No idea how that even can happen, just a simple screenshot. Re-uploaded the screenshot here http://imgur.com/a/nHKX7 and also attaching it to this post. I also just noticed that FNIS says the gender specific directories do not exist. Can anybody tell me the exact path of the directories so I can create them in Mod Organizer's virtual file structure? I'm not sure if that would make a difference or not but I'd like to try without having to install FNIS outside of Mod Organizer's environment just to discover what the actual paths are.
prinyo Posted September 20, 2016 Posted September 20, 2016 Open the Task manager and tell it to always show on top of other windows. This way when Skyrim freezes again you will be able to open it. What I usually do in such situation is Ctrl+Alt+Del and then Logout. Both should work and let you exit the frozen Skyrim without hard restart. I would suggest to put xpmse.esp at the bottom of the load order. And then in the SexLab MCM make sure that Even actor height is disabled. (In the new version this option is conditionaly available) Make sure it is unchecked.
downdrop Posted September 20, 2016 Author Posted September 20, 2016 Oh my, thank you so much! That will be so invaluable to me in troubleshooting this problem. I never knew I could force the task manager to always stay on top. I cringe anytime I've ever had to hard reboot, it's such a nasty thing to do to my system lol. Skyrim is the only thing thats ever made me have to hard reboot in years..lol. I used LOOT inside Mod Organizer to manage my load order but I will certainly try putting xpmse.esp at the bottom. Even actor height is already disabled, since I haven't adjusted my player character height at all it's the default and SexLab animations have always lined up for me, or came close enough for me to never bother with the option. You wouldn't happen to know the gender specific directory paths for FNIS do you? edit.. Placing XPMSE.esp at the bottom of the load order seemed to solve the problem--thank you! Is that a bug with LOOT or MO and would it be worth while to submit a post over on the STEP forum about it? I am still a little concerned about FNIS complaining about the gender directories though since I thought SexLab does use gender specific animations? Just to be certain I double checked even actor's height and sure enough it was already disabled, and the option to enable it is totally grayed out so even had I wanted to SexLab would have prevented me. Marking thread as solved, but if somebody would still kindly let me know the correct directories to create in MO's virtual file structure I would be very appreciative. I can't seem to find it, I've been scouring the posts section on NM and going over everything on the FNIS download page looking for it.
prinyo Posted September 20, 2016 Posted September 20, 2016 The message about the missing directories is not a problem. Did you check the first checkbox in FNIS - "Gender specific animations". And if yes - which mod required it? Usually checking the second checkbox - the skeleton arm fix is enough. If there is no mod that requires some of the checkboxes to be activated you should live them unchecked. So the answer is - uncheck the first checkbox and the message about the empty directories will disappear. If it is required by some mod - by which one?
downdrop Posted September 21, 2016 Author Posted September 21, 2016 Okay, thanks again. I regenerated FNIS without gender specific animations checked. If SexLab doesn't require it then I don't think I have any mods installed that do. I had always had that checked anytime I ever ran FNIS, I just assumed it was required for SexLab even though I hadn't actually read that it was a requirement anywhere. I guess my misunderstanding about it was only because I have used SexLab a lot in the past, actually it's been in every Skyrim save I've ever had, and I knew that SexLab had animations in it that were specifically for male or female. Now that I think about it a little more I guess not though since my player character just throws on a strap on whenever she is in a male animation.
