gijbaan Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 Hi Guys I have a new system and on this runs now windows 10. The problem now is, that fallout 3 not start (nothing happens when i try to start it other the launcher or nmm) and fallout new vegas seems to "forgett" the complete modlist. With every new, new vegas start, the game has other mods in it but never all from my load order. That is a little bit confusing for me, because on my windows 7 system it has run perfectly. Did someone know why this is happen on my windows 10 system?
zippy57 Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 Two questions: 1. Where is Steam installed? If it is in your Program Files folder, try moving it elsewhere as UAC can cause havok. 2. What program are you using to manage your load order?
gijbaan Posted September 13, 2016 Author Posted September 13, 2016 Hi and thx for your answer. I have steam in a custom directory (on my secoundary hd, because my first is to small for steam and all the steamgames). But on my windows 7 system, this whas no problem. For Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas, I use Nexus Manager*. *Edit: To sort my load order.
zippy57 Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 Let's start by checking that NMM is installing your mods correctly. When you navigate to the location FNV is installed, are the plugins that NMM has listed in your load order actually present in the Data folder?
gijbaan Posted September 14, 2016 Author Posted September 14, 2016 In Fallout New Vegas is everything ok with the enabling of mods, but the load order whas a bit chaotic. I test my new load order later. NMM did not start fallout 3. It only sends me a error message like this: "you have no .ini file. Start f3 one time befor" and then loads the normal NMM UI. When I start then f3 another window pops up that a .dll is missing (xlive.dll). Also I can not start f3 over steam too. Every time I start it with steam, nothing happens. Just a windows warning pop up with the message, that f3 is not compatible with my windows version.
zippy57 Posted September 14, 2016 Posted September 14, 2016 What happens if you run the FO3 Launcher .exe directly, rather than through Steam?
gijbaan Posted September 14, 2016 Author Posted September 14, 2016 When I start the launcher directly, nothing happens again with the message, that f3 is not compatible with my windows version. When I start the f3.exe or f3ng .exe nothing happens again but with the missing .dll warning pop up (xlive.dll). Edit: And btw. I can´t update f3 to v1.7 because it always comes me with the xlive.dll warning. :|
zippy57 Posted September 14, 2016 Posted September 14, 2016 See if this mod removes the xlive.dll errors.
