TBDM Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 After installing Sexout and my desired plugins, I can not seem to have sex with any npcs. After going through the dialogue with them, it simply closes and when the animation should start, nothing happens. prideslayer Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 Other animation/pose mods (like slave in pose) may break sexout. Try without that mod. If that fixes it, go to the main NG download thread, first post. There's a link there to another post that gives some instructions on how to hack the offending mod so it stops breaking sexout and other animation mods. Then contact the mod author and tell him to do the same thing himself.
TBDM Posted June 8, 2012 Author Posted June 8, 2012 I tried disabling Slave in Pose, it didn't work I'm afraid. I'm not sure, would it be possible that NVSE isn't working properly? This is my first time trying to use the 4gb fallout loader, as I'm on a new computer
prideslayer Posted June 8, 2012 Posted June 8, 2012 You need a special 4GB loader that's made to work with NVSE -- the 'standard' 4GB loader doesn't work. FWIW I've never got the 4GB loader to work right, personally. This really sucks for me, as I have a quad core machine with 16GB of ram going to waste.. Try it without the 4GB loader and see what happens.
TBDM Posted June 8, 2012 Author Posted June 8, 2012 As in completely remove the 4gb files? Alright, I'll try that
prideslayer Posted June 8, 2012 Posted June 8, 2012 You don't need to remove anything, just launch the game with falloutnv.exe instead of FNV4GB.exe. That loader makes a copy of falloutnv.exe called falloutnv.4gb, patches that, and runs it -- it doesn't touch the vanilla exe or hook it or anything like that.
prideslayer Posted June 8, 2012 Posted June 8, 2012 Oh you'll know if NVSE loaded if you open your console in game after 10-15 seconds or so. You should see an NVSE notice in the console stating that it is loaded, and what version.
TBDM Posted June 8, 2012 Author Posted June 8, 2012 Well, I tried what you said, it still didn't seem to work. I haven't seen any notice in the console, it just retrieves a number of values for sexout and then repeatedly says initializer is running. I am using FOMM and it says launch NVSE so I'm not sure why it doesn't run, I know it's at least trying to locate and run the file
prideslayer Posted June 8, 2012 Posted June 8, 2012 No notice in the console means NVSE is not loading. That means either your link in FOMM is messed up somehow, or you installed NVSE incorrectly. Remove the NVSE files and reinstall them, following the directions carefully.
TBDM Posted June 8, 2012 Author Posted June 8, 2012 I reinstalled NVSE, on load up it still did not show the NVSE version, however when I used the command getNVSEversion it said it was version two, and didn't give an error or anything. The animations were still not working
prideslayer Posted June 8, 2012 Posted June 8, 2012 It's possible you didn't wait quite long enough, it definitely sends a message to the console that should say "NVSE v2 b12" or something like that. In your main fallout directory (not data directory) you should also have some .log files like nvse.log, nvse_loader.log, nvse_extender.log, and perhaps nvse_steam_loader.log. They should all have todays date.
TBDM Posted June 8, 2012 Author Posted June 8, 2012 I do have those .log files, and I am not sure how long I should wait for the nvse to give the message, as after a little while the only message I get is the repeating Initializer running, if I get the NVSE message I havent seen it in all of those messages
prideslayer Posted June 8, 2012 Posted June 8, 2012 It comes up almost instantly for me and says "NVSE version 2 revision 0 (beta 12)" When you get to the first menu, open the console and type 'tdt'. This will let messages from the console appear on the screen even when the console is closed. Then load your game, as NVSE won't initialize until that happens. After that just wait, console closed, and messages should start popping in. Disable all your mods if they're too spammy with the console for you to see what's going on, or log the messages to a file by typing scof "console.log" before or after the TDT above. That will make a console.log file you can look at after you quit the game. If it's really not showing up, something is definitely wrong.
TBDM Posted June 8, 2012 Author Posted June 8, 2012 It didn't show up at all, after running like that for about 5 minutes. Any idea what would cause that?
prideslayer Posted June 8, 2012 Posted June 8, 2012 None comes to mind.. it would seem that NVSE is not being loaded properly. Are you sure that: 1. You have nvse installed correctly. The DLLs and loader go in the top level fallout NV directory, not data or anywhere like that. 2. You are launching it properly. You should be using "nvse_launcher.exe" to launch fallout with nvse. The FOMM launch should work, I use it all the time, but it sounds like you've broken something somehow.
TBDM Posted June 8, 2012 Author Posted June 8, 2012 I'm not sure. I'm wondering if I should try a total re-installation. I disable some of my laptop processes so I could run New Vegas (I was experiencing crashes during the opening cutscene and when loading doc mitchells room if I skipped it) but I do not think those would have caused this problem, they were processes that I was suspecting were causing conflicts between new vegas and my integrated graphics card
prideslayer Posted June 8, 2012 Posted June 8, 2012 If you're using FOMM you can just deactivate (in the package manager) all your mods, then tell steam to revalidate the games cache files, and it will 'fix' any messed up files. This is usually faster than reinstalling by quite a bit. After that, try it out, and if it works start reenabling mods in FOMM one by one.
prideslayer Posted June 8, 2012 Posted June 8, 2012 You got it from the nvse site right, not some other oddball place? http://nvse.silverlock.org/
TBDM Posted June 8, 2012 Author Posted June 8, 2012 Yeah, downloaded it from there and put it into my Fallout New Vegas main folder, not the data folder I suppose could there possibly be some windows/laptop/specifically lenovo brand laptop process that if I disabled, NVSE would not work? I can't possibly think of one, but I'm trying to keep all options open
prideslayer Posted June 8, 2012 Posted June 8, 2012 I don't think so, Lenovo products are good, I've loved thinkpads since they said IBM (and still have one or two) but I haven't ever tried to play any games on my most recent one. It's possible some kind of UAC type thing is interfering, but I think it would pop up and tell you if that were the case, unless you have that disabled. Also enabling DEP (data execution prevention) for all programs will likely stop runtime patchers like NVSE from working, or so I would imagine.
TBDM Posted June 8, 2012 Author Posted June 8, 2012 I just tried playing New Vegas on my desktop, and it seemed to have worked fine. However, I did not get any message about NVSE, I was not getting the initializer running message, and I did not get the message about sexout common resources when loading (I don't actually remember what the message says on my laptop, it looks more like code than a confirmation for me) Edit: I will look to see if it has to do with one of those processes, but that will most likely have to wait until tomorrow(or better said much much later today)
