Anicae Posted September 10, 2016 Posted September 10, 2016 Short version: Could I break my game with changing the order of mods loading on the left side (texture/mesh mods)? Long version: Installed head mesh on my current game, sorted with loot (etc, etc.) and game runs fine. Now I have the problem that some features of the mod Apropos don't work on the face region for my character. I suspect it's because apropos is higher on the left pane than the mesh mod. Could that be? What would happen if I put the mesh mod above apropos, would that screw up my game (It took me hours to get to the part where I'm now and... well, if it has to be restarted, it has to be. But I would prefer an answer along the lines, "It's fine, it's just a mesh, change the order and go on your merry way. BTW, it's totally the reason some features of apropos don't work as intended." ) Reason why I suspect it to be like this is that slave tats (which is below the mesh) adds textures just fine. On the other side, apropos adds these features through slave tats so it should work? *confused*
ButchDiavolo Posted September 10, 2016 Posted September 10, 2016 Well, it is safe to try at least. I have no experience with slave tats and apropos, so I am going to be talking in general. The thing to look out for is which mod overwrites which. You can tell by the + and - signs next to the mods. + means the mod is overwriting another mod - means the mod is being overwritten by another mod So in your case, if you put Apropos below your head mesh mod and you see a - next to your head mesh mod, double click the head mesh mod, go to the "conflicts" tab and in the bottom half you can see exactly which files from which mod are overwriting your head mesh mod. .nif files are mesh files and .dds files are facegen (texture) files. I hope this will help you figure it out

The setting in NIOverride to enable face tats is off by default. bEnableFaceOverlays needs to be set to 1. Also, if you are applying tats through RaceMenu and SlaveTats, add the RaceMenu tats to last few slots - SlaveTats uses the first few slots, and an old issue was that it would only use the first few slots in each section. Finally, the final thing to remember is that tats are layered from top to bottom in the list. So a tat applied in slot 2 that is in the same position as a tat in slot 1, the slot 2 tat will be applied over it. So say you have an eye tat set in slot 2, then Apropos applies the "crying/tears" tat and it uses Slot 1, then the eye tat will be layered OVER the tears tat and you may not see them.

I hope this will help you figure it out That's how I usually check for in that case. Theres no conflicts, however. Nothing, except custom txt files changing some in apropos (from a mod with different descriptions). The reason why I still suspect it has to do with this mod is that it kinda changes the roundness of the face (if that makes any sense?^^). Different texture overall, different mesh for the head. So, could it be also possible, that the reason it's not showing is that the face is too big and apropos adds the wear and tear effects, it just doesn't show because it's inside the head or something.... Like, for example, if you don't fiddle around with bodyslide or something and you have clipping, piercings floating in the air and not actually sticking in your breast (just an example that my sleep deprived brain came up with right now, happened to me with this particular PT and kinda stuck in brain^^). Just it's not outwards but inwards? Ignore me if I don't make any sense... Anyways, will try it out and see if changing the order will bork anything or magically make something appear out of thin air or so.... Maybe try a dance and some voodoo magic too, who knows could help... *brabbles on*
