spadgas Posted September 10, 2016 Posted September 10, 2016 Um. So, this comes up from time to time but I've noticed that when saving games, skyrim stops dead for a noticeable time. My save games aren't I think that big (19,300kb for the ess, 1450kb for the skse file more or less. they go up and down a bit but are around that size.), but the time taken to save the latter is terrible. You can go into windows explorer and find your save files, and watch it growing. Literally. It's like it's being written a chunk at a time. Is there anything that can be done to speed this up?
WoodGolem Posted September 10, 2016 Posted September 10, 2016 This happens to me as well, from time to time. What helps for me is simply saving on a new savegame and deleting the old one.
Ashkandii Posted September 10, 2016 Posted September 10, 2016 Always create a new save, never overwrite its just better really and turn of Autosave and use Autosave Manager
spadgas Posted September 10, 2016 Author Posted September 10, 2016 I am using autosave manager. this happens even when I'm saving to a brand new save game. It's horribly random.
D_ManXX2 Posted September 10, 2016 Posted September 10, 2016 normally the lower the skse co save file is the better you got some mods that could interfere with the saving of games you should really check witch mods are causing this or you could ultimately get to the point that the savegame is unable to load anymore.

Again, the problem is the way it (sometimes) saves the file in tiny bits and pieces
