MiSFiT203 Posted September 10, 2016 Posted September 10, 2016 im running mods thru nexus mm, and all goes well with installed mods *except* mods dependant on SKSE. one mod is skyUI, i forget the other. I get the error SKSE not running or something like that. ive tried installing the .7z version multiple times in nexus, it shows it installs fine everytime, but for some reason it wont show up in game. is there a way to run the SKSE standalone and still load mods in nexus mod manager?
Leito86 Posted September 10, 2016 Posted September 10, 2016 You can't install SKSE with a mod manager. The SKSE site has an installer. Just use that.
Guest Posted September 10, 2016 Posted September 10, 2016 You should install SKSE directly, not through any mod manager. Then you have to run the game from the SKSE launcher.
BonsaiWeed Posted September 10, 2016 Posted September 10, 2016 You have to launch the game via the skse_loader file. In NMM, upper left corner is the Launch button. There should be a small black arrow in the right corner of said button (just before the "New profile" button). Click it and select the skse option. Try launching the game. If you do not see the option, make sure you extracted the skse archive in the root directory of the game: x://Steam//Steamapps//common//Skyrim// You may have to restart the NMM in case you had to move the files around.

Yes. go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Skyrim\Data\skse folder and you will see the exe file. good luck, but Nexus works perfect if you have the latest edition...sounds like you are missing some mod files...I would try this...save a game without any mods, then load them one by one until you find the one which is glitching...then use the NMM to fix it or download whatever files are dependent for the mod to run... but Always!!!! Always! load the mods one by one and test them before loading another...also the order in which you load them depends...always follow the mod instructions. good luck
Cock Sucker Posted September 10, 2016 Posted September 10, 2016 I don't get it myself :/ I just dumped the skse files into the data folder and run the game with the default launcher AND it shows skse and runs skse mods fine, is it just me that's lucky then?

SKSE filies wont go into DATA folder. put them into where is skyrim.exe. and all files From DATA(SKSE) to DATA folder
