FootIK crash when loading a savegame

[Question]

This is the one where you try to load a savegame and it crashes saying that footIK failed to setup properly and that there might be too many animations.

 

According to FNIS i have about 2,440 animations. Thats only from a couple of mods (mostly sexlab related).

 

I found an old thread here that said that loading XPSE last would help. It does, but it still crashes for me sometimes.

 

Does anyone know of any way to get rid of the crashing?

The best solution if you want to keep all the mods is to do the following:

• Start the game;
• From main menu without loading a save: console->'coc qasmoke' or some other cell;
• Once cocced, load your save;
• During current game session, your saves should load normally.

When you restart Skyrim (new session), do all of the above again.

Thanks for the tip, i didnt realise you could coc at the main menu without loading a save. Really annoying that you have to do that all the time though...

By being tracked, do you mean someone is working on a permanent solution?

I just meant that people are still actively looking into it. It's not always easy to pin down when it's a perfect combination of things causing the problem instead of just a single mod. Issues like this always deserve a permanent solution, though. Just check out the thread I linked. Many others are experiencing it too.

Here someone did a mod that allows one to load their latest save file by typing 'coc cg'. (Imitation of 'Continue button' with a console).

actually someone actually fixed it for real! It's a plugin actually you should be able to put into your skse folder. The mod is called "Load game CTD fix". I have been very succesfull at loading the save from the get go without going to an older one first. IT'S AMAZING!

 

Btw the Original modder has left modding but it is still being looked into and the fact that it still works well, what is perfect shouldn't be worked on i guess.
