RenaSan Posted August 24, 2016 Posted August 24, 2016 Hey peoples, Meet Ava, a new character today, trying to make a young girl for a roleplaying walkthrough that will feature some characters. She's supposed to be around 14-16, but no matter how many times I look at her, something seems odd. What do you think of her? PS: Might attach a bigger picture in a moment, just gotta restart skyrim and take one up close.
Laura Posted August 24, 2016 Posted August 24, 2016 The image doesn't load for me. It loads now. The thing that immediately stands out is that she looks really tired. And the shadow under her mouth looks a bit odd. Now that i stared at her for a while. It looks like she is slightly cross-eyed. But that could just be the screenshot that makes it seem like she is.
Amilyn Posted August 24, 2016 Posted August 24, 2016 I instantly noticed that there is something off about her eyes, like Comrade above said, maybe it's just the angle of the screenshot
AsariX Posted August 24, 2016 Posted August 24, 2016 Her lower eyelids are perfectly horizontal. Perfect will naturally trigger an alarm in your subconciousness telling you that it's unnatural.
RenaSan Posted August 24, 2016 Author Posted August 24, 2016 Different place, different lighting. The droopyness is wanted. She's someone who is a natural born mage, her family got attacked by robbers and in the panic she used her hidden powers, burning everything, even her family. She then was hunted down by the rest of her village and was an outcast for a while until she heard that there is a college to study magic. So yea, she's supposed to look a little bit bummed. ---- Thanks for the feedback so far. I've fiddled around a bit with some options, but can't seem to really seem to make a difference.

Eye Angle or which option would you recommend?
thesteve812 Posted August 24, 2016 Posted August 24, 2016 I think if you just moved the eyes, nose, and mouth up just a little.

Doesn't look as "horizontal" in your second image, though in that one it seems the outer eyecorners are somehow sunk a bit into the skin or her cheekbone extends further out then her brow? Not sure, it could all be a matter of angles and lighting. When moving into some place with different lighting, it might all work out, so I'd say: take a night's rest (not in game) and look again in a day or two.
RenaSan Posted August 24, 2016 Author Posted August 24, 2016 Hm, yea I'm taking a break from fiddling with her for now. Whenever I change her face she always starts looking too mature. The outer corners of the eyes bug me, but frankly I have no clue how to fix them. --- EDIT --- I realized she looks a lot like fucking daenerys from GOT and changed her a bit more, but I just can't seem to be able to get it right.. ffs. Adoring the way she looks from the side, but it's almost as if she's two different people from front/side. Obviously I'm not trying to make her too oversexed or stylized, but there's something cute and femine about all of these: Trying hard right now to figure out what exactly it is. This is the first time I am stumped and cannot make a character the way I want them to look. Not sure if anybody has any experience with child like characters. Right now I'm trying to figure out why she looks like a boy most of the time if her hair isn't totally female. I really need to accent her femine assets more it seems.
