lexi1990 Posted June 3, 2012 Posted June 3, 2012 Hello I have a mod or something that has altered my race names and descriptions and Id love for it to go back to the correct Name text and description text. Anyone know how to do that without reinstalling? Is there a way to edit that in creation kit or a file that handles race names and descriptions?
SenReality Posted June 3, 2012 Posted June 3, 2012 You are most likely using a foreign mod, I dont really tend to get this unless its a Russian mod that alters or adds a new race. So yea, your using a foreign race mod that either alters the races or adds a new one. Post your loadorder for me, it'll be easy to remedy.
BravilScum Posted June 3, 2012 Posted June 3, 2012 This is a MasterID file Error, i know those very good...one of your Mod is not up to date with the Skyrim.esm. Find out wich mod and update it.
billypnats Posted June 3, 2012 Posted June 3, 2012 lol your name is awesome, if you have enhancedcharacteredit.esp, disable it and see if its still there
lexi1990 Posted June 4, 2012 Author Posted June 4, 2012 Well the only mod that I used that wasnt from Steam workshop or Skyrim Nexus was a link to BBP Armor Pack that had a lot of asian words or letters that I cant read but it only added armors not race. The only race mod I have is the Loli race I downloaded and tried. I dont have enchancedcharacteredit.esp and it doesnt sound familiar. How can I post my load order? This is starting to sound like I need a fresh install.
Allyster Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 I have the same problem, I install some mods which change graphiscs or textures and now the names of dungeons, cities etc. Are changed to english (I have the game in spanish). Maybe is problem of the .esp which are made for asian players. It's just an idea you can try it or install an english race mod maybe it changes the racemenu language.
lexi1990 Posted June 4, 2012 Author Posted June 4, 2012 Tried your idea Allyster downloaded a couple race mods but it only added a race and didnt fix my vanilla racemenu language issues. Getting closer to a reinstall I guess. Rats
shedidwhat Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 what files are in your Strings folder ? Steam\steamapps\common\skyrim\Data\Strings\ should have at least 3 files Skyrim_English.DLSTRINGS Skyrim_English.ILSTRINGS Skyrim_English.STRINGS I have 6, the three above and Update_English.DLSTRINGS Update_English.ILSTRINGS Update_English.STRINGS
shedidwhat Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 ok what about the interface folder Steam\steamapps\common\skyrim\Data\Interface should have Translate_ENGLISH.txt in it and if your using any UserInterface mods make sure no fonts from other languages are in the folder also see if those STRINGS files and the Translate_ENGLISH.txt all have the same "Date Modified" Date. they should be what ever date you installed Skyrim just to make sure something hasn't overwritten one of the files.
lexi1990 Posted June 4, 2012 Author Posted June 4, 2012 Everything in the interface folder has ENGLISH on it but the translate.ENGLISH.txt file has a date 2 months older than the skyrim launcher exe. I think I should just give in to the reinstall and be done with it.
