Ark of Truth Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 I was wondering if something like this would be possible. - Player kills named NPC. Player gets given a debuff. - Debuff randomly causes a unique npc to spawn and go after the player. Only 1 of this NPC can be spawned at a time. - If player escapes the NPC despawns but the debuff remains. - If the player is knocked down to 5% health or below by the NPC they get knocked out. - When knocked out the player loses some random stuff which is placed in NPC inventory. Debuff removed until the player kills a named npc again. - Player can recover stuff by defeating the NPC when it next spawns. - When the NPC is defeated the players items are returned and some items drop from a loot list. Debuff removed. Now this all seems possible but I have not touched FO4 creation kit much.
Guest Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 Fully possible with what we have now. You may just want to add a few checks to avoid to kill NPCs that are required to progress the quests (usually they are Protected, but not always.) And create a cell (probably more than one) where the summoned NPCs will store you stuff and you can try to kill them.
Ark of Truth Posted August 15, 2016 Author Posted August 15, 2016 OK, by killing a named NPC. I was thinking about using storyline ones as well such as Kellog or a legendary. Player kills kills kellog or legendary enemy and gets the debuff.
Guest Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 Not a problem. The real trick you have to do is to decide if you want this to happen for EACH NPC, or just a subset of specific ones. Each NPC can be problematic because of generated NPCs (like raiders to give you an example.)
Ark of Truth Posted August 15, 2016 Author Posted August 15, 2016 What is a subset again? Mind is going blank here :/
Guest Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 "you want a 'vindicator' only if you kill: Kellogs, Paladin whatever, Piper, the girs on the memory den, the singer in goodneighboroug, the doc in Diamond City" In this case it is a static list of NPCs. Specific ones. And has to be handled by the mod author to decide who are they, and where the vindicator goes with your stuff. "you want a 'vindicator' any time you kill somebody" That is a different story. And I think it will be quite annoying after a little while.
Ark of Truth Posted August 15, 2016 Author Posted August 15, 2016 I see. Yes I believe unique npc such as Kellogs and all would be the best idea.
Guest Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 Agreed. This gives you also options to have specific advengers/vindicators. ...In case you like to add some story...
ralfetas Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 This should be cool, something like the dark brotherhood in skyrim, when we steal itens, kill someone etc... sometimes NPC's send a assassin after us. Ow.... i miss this details that skyrim have...
Ark of Truth Posted August 21, 2016 Author Posted August 21, 2016 The only downside is I am not good with Papyrus, give me Oblivion and I can do it. Guess it's time to go do some reading.
