jigs117 Posted August 14, 2016 Posted August 14, 2016 So from time to time my skyrim CTDs which is normal for a heavily modded game... i think? Anyway when it does CTDs i try to start up the game load my save normally then CTDs instantly, i try again and CTD! I thought my save was corrupted but i wasn't gonna let my level 34 go so i tried rebooting the PC, Started Skyrim loaded save normally and it worked! Got my level 34 back, but the CTDs still happens sometimes and im getting sick of rebooting my PC frequently, Can anyone help me?
Comrade Isbariya Posted August 14, 2016 Posted August 14, 2016 First of all, even a highly modded Skyrim can be stable. Mine doesn't crash at all. (As long as I don't mess up things in CK that is ) Just have a look at the guide I linked in my signature and see if you can make it better. Second, get a savegame near to the start of the game or create a new one (new game save) and save it as soon as you're in a save area or preferably an interior cell. Whenever Skyrim doesn't want to load your most recent save, use the 'new' save to load the game, and from there load your most recent save. That should work. There are several reasons why Skyrim wouldn't want to load a save game, with or without crashes, but most of them can be avoided by that workaround. Or by using certain tools/addons but since I don't know what you're using or not using at all...
