Does anyone do the RP thing? Besides me. .-.

I've been playing Oblivion with Lovers mods, but I can't "roleplay" it. I need to use my head and type it out. Anyone else into that?

Yes. The occasional tabletop sessions aside, I've been playing a campaign on Roll20 for a year now. The DM posted a recruitment thread on this forum right here and a few weirdos (including myself) signed up. We've been gaming almost every week and it's been more fun than I ever expected from an online thing. Sometimes there's sexy stuff, sometimes loot, sometimes glorious victories over evil.

A computer game can never offer the same interactivity and adaptability as a game run by a human mind. Something like Skyrim is a quick bit of fun. Maybe you want to get raped by an orc mercenary or enslave a hold and put everyone in devious devices. Okay, done. Nobody cares, nobody remembers, because the world is made for questing and leveling. And that's as good as it gets without some enormous project by a group of talented people unconcerned with financial returns.

Imagination is the natural lube of gaming, making things slick and smooth. I can imagine the ambience of a place such as Whiterun and ignore details like a handful of farms feeding a supposedly big city that doesn't have all that many people living in it. I can descend into the Blackreach, ponder the fate of the Dwemer and lament that of the Falmer instead of just chopping up enemies and looting. In CRPGs, imagination is like makeup covering little flaws and making the whole look more appealing; in RPGs, it creates worlds.

Second Life has a multitude of opportunities like what you are describing. I've been a part of it for six years, and have explored quite a bit. Erotic Role Play is not the only thing I enjoy with it, though there are a lot of ways to find such.

Haven't been around there for a while, but The Old Republic has a lot of ERP going on. I used to run a slave market type thing there a while back and had to be a bit ehh... Hands on, from time to time.
