shockins Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 Hey there, I imagine this is a pretty simple fix but I'm not finding any option or other people that have had this problem upon searching sooo..... In a thread with an imbedded YouTube video (or any video for that matter), the videos are not showing up. There's just a blank space in the post where a large block of video goodness would be. Like in this thread. If you can see Post #50, I can't. Ideas? Thanks a bunches!

shockins Posted June 2, 2012 Author Posted June 2, 2012 Do you have NoScript or a blocker on? Not sure...I looked around for an option like that but didn't see it. I'll take another look at the thread/LL webpage and see if I can't locate it. Could it be an option in IE? I'll mess around with a little and let you know. Edit: SOLVED! Apparently, it takes at least a half hour, at most 2 hours for these videos to load on my laptop. I got a call while visiting the thread and left the page up. Come back 2 hours later, BAM! There they are. So sorry for the trouble. Thanks Greg and Ark for the attention. It turns out I and/or my laptop are just $#!^... Thread closed.
thesapien Posted June 3, 2012 Posted June 3, 2012 Do you have the same problem when actually at YouTube? If it seems to only happen here, it could be a problem with CloudFlare, the security service used by many sites and here. CloudFlare caches much of the site on their own servers (so it's like you're actually visiting CloudFlare) and the stuff that updates and as well as larger files like video and probably imbedded stuff, too, is stuff that has to be routed through CloudFlare. So some things are fast, which are cached, and some things may take longer, which are not cached. So if CloudFlare is having problem with one of their servers, like the one closest to you, then you'll have problems. Since they are the target of many internet attacks these days, it could just mean they are experiencing a DDOS attack and should just be temporary.
shockins Posted June 3, 2012 Author Posted June 3, 2012 That's interesting thesapien. No, I don't have any problems with YouTube as a webpage, those load up extremely fast (my laptop is an old one but not ancient: Dual Core Intel, 3gb RAM, integrated video on the motherboard with 1gb RAM = serviceable but probably no Qarl's). It's only with imbedded videos here. Also, apparently I have the same problem at home here with my desktop which has a lot more power. It's been 1 minute and still loading the posted videos. I bet you're right on. Seems strange that there would be a problem in the Seattle area, but meh. 2 minutes...still nothing, heh. I think that thread is just off limits to me, lol. Thanks for the help!
thesapien Posted June 3, 2012 Posted June 3, 2012 So it's a problem only while visiting LL and occurs on both of your computers? Probably nothing wrong on your end. I'm guessing it's either LoversLab or CloudFlare. Question Site keeps going offline http://www.loverslab.com/showthread.php?tid=8455 Lovers Lab takes ages to load between pages? http://www.loverslab.com/showthread.php?tid=7993 Can't see any attached images in this forum http://www.loverslab.com/showthread.php?tid=7584 Loverslab timing out issue? http://www.loverslab.com/showthread.php?tid=7188 Not sure why but this happens only when visiting this site. http://www.loverslab.com/showthread.php?tid=6820 Site infected with Trojan http://www.loverslab.com/showthread.php?tid=8215
