Jormungandr Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 Like the topic says i'd like to request help since i'm next to nowhere experienced with stuff like this. I'd like to have the dragon priest animations rigged to the player skeleton so that they can be used for an actual animation replacer. I have no idea how much effort that would be, Dragon priests have more animation files than humanoids (thats what i see in FOMM when i extracted them) and i have no idea if that makes it even more complex or easier. I know there are several casting animation replacers but none of them involve staffs and none of them let you float in idle/movement. I strive to create a mod focussing on lichdom/becoming a lich and i'd like to give players the option to do so without having the hassle to constantly turn back into a human for using a forge or an enchanter or any of the usable statics. That said, i hope somebody has the time and the related rigging skill to help me out. I tried to create a animation replacer myself using the simple method of renaming the player animations (which worked with oblivion), which doesn't work with skyrim. This was the actual result.. good for a laugh i guess
Jormungandr Posted June 2, 2012 Author Posted June 2, 2012 Nobody? Or at least someone who would be interested in giving me a tip how to do it myself?
Jormungandr Posted June 2, 2012 Author Posted June 2, 2012 I hope i won't get scolded for bumping my own thread, but it's like all those animators who created animation replacers already, just disappeared all of a sudden. Is really nobody interested? Are we all doomed to float so manly like nocturnal when casting master spells?
TheOneWolf Posted June 3, 2012 Posted June 3, 2012 rig animations? lol I'll help ya with some clarifications. Rigging is the process setting a mesh up with a skeleton to be Animated. Animations is the process of moving a rigged model to give it life. I know this isnt the post you were looking for, but you learn something everyday :-)

I have no idea if the skeleton needs to be rigged or the animations, either way the outcome (not the process) would be the same. If rigging is the absolute wrong term for it, enlighten me, i'm willing to learn. All i know about the process is that it'll happen most likely in nifskope or even worse in blender. Sorry if my response seems a bit flat, i'm looking for around 3 days now for somebody who could do it, it's also 6am and i'm out of coffee
