Laptop: Gateway p-7809u fx edition

I noticed lately huge FPS (frame per second) drop while playing Oblivion. I used to get 30-45 FPS now I can barely get 30 and on average FPS is in vicinity of 15-25.

Also I ran SpeedFan occasionally to check the temperature. I used to get 45-50 Celcius degree (113 - 122 F) when my laptop was idle or when I was web browsing, but now when in idle state or doing light web browsing I get between 60-70 Celcius degree (140 - 158 F).

My current graphic card is Geforce 9800M GTS and I am looking for alternative graphic card because I can't find that graphic card online. It needs to be a good matching graphic card or otherwise I will experience instabilities or worse - I will get my laptop seriously damaged/broken.

I suspect that fan next to the graphic card is broken for good.

I am not a geek. Generally speaking, for the laptop, the graphic cards is "integrated" on the motherboard, so it may not be possible to change only the graphic card.

4 years ago, My first laptop's graphic card is dead. The engineer changed it with a new one with a new motherboard.

False alarm. My card is fine. It were viruses that messed with components temperature.

Yeah, if you have a graphics fault with a laptop like a blown chipset you best just binning it as laptop. The only way to fix it is with a new motherboard. Your better off saving that up for a desktop.
