yosecretsquirrel Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 I've always said Nintendo has pretty much fkd up an entire generation of Japanese and I just don't get the whole hentai craze. Well now I have seen something that just scares the heck out of me. Hentai rock stars.LIVE and on stage! Well if nothing else it makes some of the stuff a Disneyland seems less creepy. [video=youtube]
Kashiwaba Tomoe Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 Um, dude, you have no idea what Hentai is, lol. Â Also that's hatsune Miku, which (in japanland and circles that are fans of the stuff) actually quite mainstream and (fanart aside) actually pretty safe for work. Â The characther is just the 'mascot' for a jappanese program that synthesizes vocal output. Basically, a programable singing program. Â So yeah, thread fail.
adrenaline Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 This issue is quite sensitive in far east Countries, since there are a lot of crazy fans here, you know. Now that this website is more "western" I guess it's safer to have a opinion about this "fictitious" idol here. Yes, IMO it is weird, and I don't understand why some people like synthetic voice and even spent money for a live show like that? Â I guess soon those fans will find this discussion and attack us lol.
sammythesquirrel Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 hentai is a Japanese word meaning abnormal or pervert it has nothing to do with porn applying it to Japanese erotica is just the rest of the world being retards from 1960-present
D_KNIGHT_PEN Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 True after all some of the stuff that is considered hentai are almost indistinguishable from a regular manga or anime or whatever.
Triratna Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 hentai is a Japanese word meaning abnormal or pervert it has nothing to do with porn applying it to Japanese erotica is just the rest of the world being retards from 1960-present  Yeah, It add unhealthy dose of hyper realistic maniac into child or adult alike, makes unproductive childish adult otaku out of them. :\  However 'Seinen' category are more acceptable and educating, Makes a very hard reading than shonen, (if not overly dramatics). Sex may involved, tough psychology & social consequences usually follows which can lead into a successful adult life or teen suicides.  .. oh, I like violence and gore. The younger the better btw.
Ark of Truth Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 It's impressive technology, she's created on stage with two projectors and two panes of glass
lolerzness Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 We use the correct term Ecchi for these things. CAUSE "Hentai" iz too mainstream derp I hate it when people who talk about hentai yet they have no idea what anime is about. Its all just a bunch of fapknights these days. Good thing there's vanilla.
thesapien Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 Pretty darn cool. Way impressive tech all around. It's not winning me away from KPOP, but what's not to like?
shockins Posted June 8, 2012 Posted June 8, 2012 Pfft! This is no big deal, kind of catchy though not really my bag. Seems like Gorillaz to me.
thesapien Posted June 8, 2012 Posted June 8, 2012 Could also be used by a real person doing a live feed to perform or communicate to multiple audiences or just calling someone. Oh, or a fake president who can't be assassinated.
yosecretsquirrel Posted June 8, 2012 Author Posted June 8, 2012 Well my apologies, and you are correct I have no concept of what Hentai is but thanks for the education. I actually spent some time chasing down this phenomenom, watching a lot of videos in japanese(not that I speak much japanese) and was blown away even further, not just by the tech but by how seriously a good portion of asian society takes this one particular media creator. After a while I had to stop watching this stuff as I was starting to see the appeal, and that just won't do for a conservative western white male nearing 50 lol. Although my original post was meant to come across as somewhat sacastic, I actually just wanted to point out the cool tech. So just to be clear, what is this style of media called anyway?
