Yet Another SexLab 'No Animations' Cry for Help!

Hello Guys,

As the title suggests, I'm having real troubles with getting any animations to work on SexLab. I'll list what I've done so far to put things in perspective:

- Clean install of Skyrim. Installed several mods via MO of which about half worked. SexLab worked in every respect except animations. I went to the forums for help. I initially switched to NMM but had real problems.

- Following some excellent advice from Versh, I then followed many of the instructions on the following link:

http://www.loverslab.com/topic/47360-anatriaxs-guide-to-an-immersive-skyrim/

- Due to my own inabilities and some modules I wasn't interested in, I did not install everything in the Anatriaxs guide - following this guide, I'm back on MO. However, I DID carry out a full purge and clean install on a new drive away from Steam.

- FNIS doesn't seem to be behaving for starters; first time round it registered over 1300 animations; now its less than 100. Also, it wouldn't attach to the MO launcher, I had to make a desktop shortcut for it.

- SexLab seems to work fine in every respect except animations. I've tried to read and follow advice in older threads but they seem to be for older versions of mods and I don't know if they're still applicable.

- I've tried to use the SexLab system clean function in the game menu itself, but it didn't work. I did get a message on screen saying that animations had been loaded, but they still don't work. During gameplay I get a message at the top of the screen saying which animation is loaded, but it doesn't actually do anything.

- Sorry for the long, ramble message - I'm more than willing to follow any advice you guys have got but after 4 days of amateur tinkering and reading old forum posts I don't understand, I'm afraid I'm now completely defeated!

- Also more than willing to post any screenshots of set up and config.

Thanks in advance for any help!

I think this issue needed to be fixed first.

What is the problem from trying to attach FNIS to MO launcher?

What is log output when you run FNIS?

What you see in Sexlab Debug MCM?

I get what you mean. I did a clean reinstall as well, and have this problem for the first time. Reinstalled sexlab, zaz, run FNIS, rinse, repeat. FNIS shows the registered animations, get the notification as well, and some animations even work, but the vast majority imply the characters standing in the same space not moving. My suspicion is I have some conflictingpost-235696-0-06267400-1469527389_thumb.png mod. Will try removing and report on my progress. post-235696-0-06267400-1469527389_thumb.png

launching fnis from a manager wont work it even states so in the dialogue box

go to; c drive>program files 86>steam>steam apps>common>skyrim>data>tools>fnis>fnis for users

and launch the executable from there. check arm fix and run it give it a minute to get all the stuff in order. when it says its done youre good to go

i reccomend making a shortcut to skyrim on your desktop trust me youll have to run fnis a lot in the long run, doing the shortcut

makes modding less of a pain in the ass when you have to tweak things... also dont shortcut fnis either youll have the same problem as with the manager

We might be getting somewhere - I followed the direction in yellow you posted (although my Skyrim is on the D drive to avoid the primary Steam folder as recommended) and in the 'Data' folder there isn't a 'Tools' folder.

Really sorry for what must be stupid questions, but how do I install FNIS in this area?

Also, probably something I should have mentioned earlier but in terms of the link I posted in my first post of this thread, I haven't done any of the de-bugging in Stage 9 of the Guide, as I'm afraid I don't understand any of it.

If you will follow comrade's advice, you will have to install all animation relate mods directly into Skyrim folder.

So that when you execute FNIS from your desktop, FNIS will detect animation in Skyrim folder directly (which it will fail if you install animation mods in MO and expect that running FNIS from desktop will work).

mine is in a Cdrive its basically the same thing, just install FNIS with nmm or unzip all its contents and copy the data folder into your skyrim's data. it wont overwrite anything so installing it with mo is pointless.

Ok guys, I've downloaded FNIS manually and put the folders straight into Skyrim's data on D drive. I ran FNIS for users from the Skyrim subfolder tools shortcut. Here's the report it gave me:

So... actually, you don't have installed nothing :P

Brief version: If you use MO, Fnis should run VIA Mod organizer. Because Mod Organizer create a 'Fake folder' putting thogeter mods that AREN'T stored 'physically' in the Skyrim data directory.

Otherwise, your Fins will check only the (empty) Data folder of Skyrim, and It wont install anything. Check on youtube how to Start Fnis from Mod organizer (this should go

)

Long Version: Uhm.. no.. It's all in the brief version... Also, keep vanilla that Data folder, it isn't a garbage collector :P

No luck, I'm afraid - I followed the instructions in the video guide. At about 6:30 into it, it tells me to click 'add' to make FNIS for users an executable file. Clicking add doesn't do anything. FNIS will not appear on my executable list of files. Also, another difference between mine and the video guide is that my SKSE, Skyrim and Skyrim Launcher are all in faded text. I don't know if that matters.

Any ideas?

Run as admin AND the folder of MO isn't on read-only?

Sorry for another stupid question - I've recently upgraded to Windows 10 and I really don't know my way around it at all. How would I check if I'm running as admin and whether MO is read only?

When I installed MO first time around it let me add FNIS as an executable with no problems at all and as far as I know, nothing has changed.

I don't actually know Win 10, the read-only generally is: Right click on the folder and check if the checkbox Read-only is Unchecked.

Probably you're already running as admin

Ok, it was on read-only and I've changed it. I right clicked on my user profile and it tells me I'm 'Local Account Administrator.'

I'm afraid that clicking 'Add' for FNIS for Users as an executable on MO STILL won't work!
