SenReality Posted July 20, 2016 Posted July 20, 2016 Now, I've been holding off making this thread for obvious reasons - I don't want to make another rinse and repeat thread. As such ... spent the better half of my time off trying to figure out what in all hells is causing me to have this frustrating issue? it's merely 'random CTDs' that occur primarily in the exterior cell, well guess thats the entire world! I've gone through so many troubleshooting methods, even to the point of uninstalling mods one by one, but ... I have about 120+ mods ... primarily armor mods, I love me some armor! so I don't really have that many mods which are that script heavy, not to my knowledge at-least ( Besides SexLab of course which I've eradicated from existence so many times, I'm just left with this depressing taste in my mouth ... do hope the puns for this will be good. ) But yes, I've recently returned to the whole TES scene, used to be an active member on these forums, creating mods this, preset that! for Oblivion and then Fallout NV. So, thought I'd be all dandy ya know? but NO! ... I really don't remember having this much trouble when I first played Skyrim with mods! So without delay! my load order. If someone could just help me out a little bit in determining just whats causing these random CTDs, you'd be my savour! 2Dimm Posted July 20, 2016 Posted July 20, 2016 totally not related to help your ctd problem but... you really should start using mod organizer now, notice if the ctd happens near especific npcs or places, if one time your ctd in a place and you try to go there again later and it dont ctd, it may be a memory problemdo you use enboost or the skse thing?

Oh, I've already found me a lovely little 'run' to see if I've fixed the CTD or not, its simply running past the mead place infront of whiterun. As for Mod Organizer, I use NMM and yes, I also use enboost and have edited the skse.ini ( First things I did when I redownloaded skyrim actually. )
Comrade Isbariya Posted July 20, 2016 Posted July 20, 2016 *Points at signature* Ever tried the memory allocate thingy? It got rid of the random CTDs for me completely.
SenReality Posted July 20, 2016 Author Posted July 20, 2016 *Points at signature* Ever tried the memory allocate thingy? It got rid of the random CTDs for me completely. Yes, I've tried them - but to no avail. As for when it crashes, its literally right after the meadry before whiterun, before that giant the companions fight, it CTD's without fail just after running past the Meadry and, I don't really have anything thats screwed with whiterun, or that area. SenReality Posted July 20, 2016 Author Posted July 20, 2016 Ehhh, just ... do a fresh install an reinstall a few mods at a time.
Guest Posted July 20, 2016 Posted July 20, 2016 Do you have windows 10 do you use an enb? If you have windows 10 and an ENB 1.) Download VRamSizeTest 2.) Run the tool VRamSizeDX9 (If you're running windows 10 this will only get too 4069) Find your Enblocal.ini and make sure these are set too these values if the above is true [MEMORY] ExpandSystemMemoryX64=false ReduceSystemMemoryUsage=true DisableDriverMemoryManager=false DisablePreloadToVRAM=false EnableUnsafeMemoryHacks=false ReservedMemorySizeMb=512 ; You could try 256 if you're getting CTD's VideoMemorySizeMb=4064 EnableCompression=false AutodetectVideoMemorySize=false [THREADS] ; With these options on it will cause less crashes stability with a big cost to stutter or performance its a trade i recommend them off. First extract SKSE Plugin Preloader, copy d3dx9_42.dll in your skyrim folder (where you found TESV.exe). Then Install Crash fixes by meh321 as usual SKSE plugin Check if you have a file named named "CrashFixPlugin_preload.txt" in Data\SKSE\Plugings (beside CrashFixPlugin.ini and CrashFixPlugin.dll), if not, create it. Open CrashFixPlugin.ini, and set UseOSAllocators to 1 That's all Notice: UseOSAllocators=1 and crashing when touching sliders in character creation or otherwise :Set AlignHeapAllocate=1 in CrashFixPlugin.ini, downside is increased load time and increased memory usage. (Setting that I suggest by default)NetImmerse Override is well known to have problem too, it you use it, replace it by racemenu.UseOSAllocators=1 and crashing on game startup or loading save or shortly after: For more information try this guide I was having troubles last night followed this guide and now my game runs smoothly.

Thank you so much for the help, all of you! while I did do a complete reinstall, the problem persisted and now, thanks to this I am now capable of enjoying my time with Skyrim and ... uh, sexlab ... perhaps (whistles) So again, thank you! I had done the SKSE ini edits and the like, but following the rest of the guide that you linked, I too now have an extremely smooth experience, even with 90-100 mods! ahh lovely Skyrims 60fps, be it my 1080 is overkill for this. But regardless! it allowed me to produce this lovely screenshot
